Mild drama ensued at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu last night during a football match between Rangers of Enugu and Abia Warriors of Umuahia.

A group of young Igbo youths were moving round with Ogene music when one of them was seen displaying Biafran flag.


His action provoked a police officer within the stadium and he moved towards the young man holding the flag and attempted to snatch it from him.

However, he got more than he bargained for as everyone around there descended on him and nearly lynched the officer.

A surge of youths advanced towards the officer with shouts of Wetin, Wetin, Wetin, and the police officer quickly took to his heels.

Civil how? Did he extend any civility in d first place? When did snatching a Biafran flag become civil? What was his business with d flag or any other thing fans chose to carry? Was it a threat to national security as they lime to claim?
