The moment Kachikwu was made minister, it was know ahead of time that he'll have to vacate his GMD position. It is illegal for someone to do so. Is it that wailers are crudely ignorant or sincerely steewwpid? Do they know that governance principle makes it illegal for a minister to be the GMD of NNPC?

The way Nigerians can strengthen and deepen their current hard-worn democracy is to enforce the provisions, letter and spirit of the constitution through court actions, NOT BY MERE WORD OF MOUTH AND PERENNIAL WHINING!
On the flagrant abuse of the Federal Character Principle and others, the lawyers would do Nigeria a world of good by approaching the courts for interpretation pending when the Constitution is amended to properly spell out and and make it legally binding to not only obey, but also be seen to have obeyed (or be obeying) the federal character principle, even in appointments that do not need legislative approval. Likewise on mandating an incoming administration to complete projects started by the predecessor administration!

Nigeria got self rule in 1960 and since that time, except for three administrations, every one else served the interest of his people and region.

Federal character is a formula intended for equitable representation. In practice no one upholds its spirit.

The North does not believe in academic or technocratic skills but they strongly adhere to the principle of aristocracy. When in power they stage for succession through traditional roots because power in the North is in two hands only, Fulani and Kanuri. These are the aristocrats. If they should lean to academy or to professionalism power in North will shift from muslim core North to christian North Central.

The suspicion that we are being islamized is partly true and is because we are feeling the presence of their aristocracy which is purely Islamic and bonded in the Quran.

Southerners on the other hand rely much on academic and professional skills as tenets of qualification or requisites for leadership.

In the Nigeria we live in and for the next thousand years if it survived that long, traditional aristocracy will always win over academy and professionalism.

To counter the Northern effect and paralyze their power, South must begin to inject traditional influence into politics and sustain administration through the traditional institution.

In the South there are only two aristocratic groups, Yoruba and Bini. Out of the two, Yoruba is the only people in South who obtain political endorsements from traditional council but they do not sustain it once they are in office and soon begin to put emphasis on bachelors and masters and phds as criteria for office. This is why Obasanjo was not favored in Yorubaland, he did not play the Yoruba card in his Presidency. He is one of the exceptions to the rule of ethnic card.

Every one of Buhari's nomination from core North and their placement is an endorsement from a Fulani or Kanuri stool of power. The Quran of the Northern muslims is what is ruling Nigeria at moment.

You dont have to be GMD of NNPC to perform. NNPC is the biggest and most profitable government agency and must be critically monitored, not by a minister of many portfolio, but a separate and focused individual

OP forget all the unrealistic excuses, the very moment I watched Kachikwu opposed Amaechi in Uyo over the maritine project, I knew Kachikwu won't escape being fired haven heard Kachikwu's statement to bring the project into petrolum and haven seen Amaechi's mood of reaction then, so save your explaination for zombies they need it more, we aint that foolish.

I don't care, in fact I have stopped raising eye brows when politicians from the south are displeased or short -changed, because they don't care about the interest of their southern electorates.
Where was Kachikwu and all Southern Legislators and politicians when the Northern politicians decided to use number of Local Government Areas to allot quotas in the Police Recruitment?
Where was kachikwu and all southern politicians in power, including our Governors when Buhari breached Federal Character principle.
I too like northern politicians, they sabi hold ground for northern agenda.

If buhari can rubbish all the politicians from the south and stop giving them appointment, I will start campaigning for him for 2019.

Buhari knows what his doing, he came to fullfil northern agenda layed down for them by uthman dan fodio to ahmadu bello, tafawa and others to conquer and ruler over Nigeria, that was the reason for the desparation to rule after contesting five times. Look at what the herdsmen are doing, did buhari say anything about the killings of innocent Nigerians? No, becos that is another way to get grazing field in the south which they will later instal emirs anywhere they get to in the south. It is really a pity becos aside fayose other southern governors are yes master governors. Years ago a playwright pa ogunde said yoruba nronu, but No, it is not yoruba but all Southerners nronu. Tinubu is longer vocal, anyway the only village fulani will colonise and instal their emir will be tinubu's village in osun state or his expanse of his personal estate in lagos. So sad. Kachikwu should not be allowed to be used , he should let baru use his brain.

Even our south people in the so called NNPC how many have they help except kachikwu wey get sense put him pple for key place. if only our people will use their head to think well and placed their own well things go better for us south, our prayer now na to know the northern person that can help us no need to shout and grumble.
