Nollywood and Kannywood must stop circulating in the same pool.
South Africa has won Academy Awards and Nigeria has not even made the nominations and what are we celebrating? Second class filmmakers?
Even Cameroon, Chad, Mauritania, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia and other African countries have competed for the highest honors at Cannes and some of them have won the major awards. But Nigerian filmmakers have not qualified for the competitions.
So, what are we bragging about or celebrating?
We need to grow up.
