UMUAHIA — A nonagenarian and prominent monarch, Eze Demond Ogugua has decried the position of Ndigbo in Nigeria today, lamenting that Ndigbo are now treated as slaves in their country.

According to Eze Ogugua, abandoned road projects are all over Igbo land and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to send a team of trust and sincere aides to Igbo land to see things for themselves.

He said that despite the contribution of Ndigbo in the development of Nigeria the “South East region has been neglected. We have no roads. We are now slaves in Nigeria”.

He particularly condemned the Niger Delta Development Commission which he said abandoned most of the projects in Abia and Imo States, which are members of the commission, saying it shows that Ndigbo are not regarded by the Government.

“We have suffered a lot, enough is enough, Buhari should order all the contractors on the abandoned projects to return back to sites and resume work on them”, Eze Ogugua said.

He also warned against dragging Ohaneze Ndigbo into politics, saying it would speed doom for Ndigbo.

Igbos are now like minority among minority group. Even within the league of oil producing states Ndigbo are marginalized.

We Igbo's should stop lamenting. We have the man power and the wealth to transform our region.
After the war we were aware that Nigerian government don't care about the east so why always cry to the people who don't care about us.
The governors should form a development scheme where every state should contribute a quota of money and man power for major pressing projects in the east.
The citizens especially those in diaspora should have such development scheme for the development of the east.
Airports, federal roads and other developmental needs will be build without FG intervention.
Enough of this wailing

Buhari has said he will not leave any region behind. But you have to stand at the back of the queue. SW and other 97% roads first, and then the SE.

You follow follow PDP and jona for 16 years and did not complain, not once.

You begged jona and the PDP for 16 years to build 2nd NB, but they mumu you for votes time and time, over and over, still no bridge and no roads, nothing.

But guess what, you are still shouting, wailing and supporting the same set of corrupt clowns who denied you and put you in this predicament.

Fact is, you people are self destructive, you are hard learners, you like and enjoy hardship, you are always fighting and doing things that are against your interest.

Side note, the ones NL beat their cockroach chests everyday that they are the best and have everything under the sun, but your forefathers are crying out for help and telling the truth about your sorry state and backwardness..

.funny people..

How has having bad roads now translated into slavery?... Meanwhile is there really any part of southern nigeria or even the middle-belt which has good roads?

Anyway, the slavery is only a mental condition; on this note, only a person who sees himself/herself as a slave is one.
