Please you guys why is it always surprising when a girl says she's going for mechanical engineering.People starts asking different kinds of questions like who forced u to go for that course,why are u going for that course.
Is it bad for a girl that loves physics and maths to follow her dreams.

In Nigeria, when we hear of anything mechanics, our average mentality attributed to it is strength, effort and power. Men are believed to have these attributes cos of the muscular make up while women have relatively little power.
They believe the strength in women cannot be enough to carry out mechanical work in the field. Hence, the reason why they feel women should not be found there.

In a "kazeem" mentality, a woman has a natural anatomical barrier that won't let them work underneath a car to repair the car.
