Hello, all the gurus in the house.pls I need your advice,i was refused UK visa today.i applied for a visit visa to spend my annual leave from work in UK.am on a monthly salary of 63,799 and married with a kid,my mum invited me who's a UK citizen alongside my lil brother, she sent me all document and also an invitation letter staying she will pay for my flight tickets, accomodation and other expense.so I submitted letter of offer letter and confirmation from work, bank statement, tax payment slip and also my pension statement.
In filling my form cost of flight to UK from my sponsor was £800 from my mom.
Cost of expense to the trip from my own wallet was put at £200.
I was surprised when I receive the refusal letter 2day.
I felt so bad cos I think my application was refuse for no genuine reasons cos his reasons are not authentic.
The reason are that I earn 63,799 a monthly and he's afraid I will be back after my preside 1 month stay in the uk.
He also said he was you stated that you are married with a kid, however you have provided no evidence of your personal circumstance in nigeria? Pls I don't understand Dis reason cos I provided my son's birth certificate, all his school fee receipt right since he started school till date,my house rent receipt for 3yrs till date, utility bill, tenancy agreement with my landlord when I rented d apartment.
Last I stated 150k from savings from relatives and pension and I also include my 2yrs pension statement of account showing the balance accumulative and monthly deduction and my statement of account shows the narration of a token amount of 19k I contribute to a micro finance bank monthly and collect it by December and money from relative is my dad but in cash of 7K monthly and they said I didn't provide proof to back all dis up.i was not given right to appeal so I want to re-apply next month cos I felt cheated after presenting all required document...please kindly advice me on what you believe caused the reason for refusal.
Though I have been refused sometimes in 2012 before and I stated it in my application and reason cos they I just finish nysc and they said I was in employed and I would not come back now am employed they still saying he's afraid about my financial status which I don't understand...please help me out.
Thanks

Hello,
Thanks
It sound like they were not convinced about your finances
although you say you provided evidence.

Just a thought from what you wrote here.
Did you submit so much that the vital fact was lost in all the paperwork.
You probably understood what you sent but if the VO only scanned through thy might have not see some facts.

If you re-apply look carefully at what you send and keep it simple but truthfull.

Now u can see tht the visa officer was right in his or her decisions, before you can reapply, you must address all the issues raised against you by the ECO. Let me ask you the ffg questions
1. How much was ur closing balance when you applied?

2. Did u claim that ur mother would pay for all expenses including flight?

3 Where did u submit ur application, VI or ikeja?

3. How Old are you that you still receive monthly pay from your father?

4. can u get all documents to prove the sources of these funds?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by sssob: 8:57am On Jul 13, 2016
@ abbey1986..you complicated and contradicted yourself.. in the following areas
- you are married yet you didn't provide marriage certificate, you are probably in your late 20's yet you still receive funding from parent..including sponsorship..you are working yet you still get support from family..not economically strong
- if all your trip is fully funded like you said..where will you get the 1000 pounds living expenses you included? ..your account balance doesn't sound buoyant enough.
What you need to do
Wait .till you have a credible account balance
With sufficient funds to sponsor yourself.. your mum should write only accommodation and feeding, you shouldn't apply for more than 10 days on your first visit.. you are a family man..do not include that your dad is giving you monthly stipends.. not kool for a married man..

If your mother is truly a UK citizen, why has she not applied for you to get permanent residency for the UK since you are her son? I mean, there is a clause that allows UK citizens to file for their parents, siblings and children. So why has your mom not yet filed for you to come over?

You know these Europeans are aware of the sorry state of Nigeria at the moment so they will really scrutinize your application because they suspect that many Nigerians are a flight risk due to the poor state of the economy. Why did you not include your marriage certificate when you applied or don't you have one?

Lastly, I hope the UK embassy did not stamp "DENIED" in your passport anywhere? If they didn't, don't worry, try another European country for vacation if its okay with you.

Good morning guys.

Help me please. Will the use of a free hotel booking which doesn't even ask for card details be detrimental to my application?
I feel the eco might not be convinced if I'm not charged or drop card details.

Please what do you think FrontPageLawyer Tunderule2016 Justwise

I remember advising you not to apply until you get a better job or your salary increases but nay, You went ahead to dash them free kpof kpof money.
Truth remains, until you salary/income increases significantly, you're simply dashing them free money.

Good day, I heard a UK citizen can only file for his/her under age child{under 20 yrs or so}. Please how do we go about this? Please can you copy me the link.
Thank you very much. Hope to read from you soon.

The fee is paid online with a debit/credit card after you must have filled your application form and submitted.

I feel the problem is from the closing balance of the account statement you submitted.

Yes, you should present the 2 accounts to show evidence of your monthly income.
Check online for fees charged by hotels and you can calculate how much 10 days will be.
Also, check online for flight ticket amounts and you can build your budget from that.

Hello Nairaland family,

Please I will like to know if in the visa form, someone can put a mobile number as the contact details of employer who will be sponsoring a business trip.
This is because if the land line is used, the company representative may not be in the office to receive the call when the ECO makes calls to the company.
Is there anyone there in a similar situation who used mobile contact & was successful?

Thanks @ askari. The number is indeed genuine. I just wanted to be sure they will not be thinking why land line was not used.
My concern with land line is if the company secretary/receptionist happens not to be in the office to receive call from the Embassy.
I need assurance from people who have used mobile number as employer's contact.
Guys out there pls tell me your experience..plzzzzzzzz

I'd advise you use the landline, more credible. They rarely call employers and if they do want to call, I'm sure they'd call during official work hours.
