So it's Pence, far right of the right.Far right running mate to a far right mistake nominee running on far right destructive policies and an extremely far right platform.

By now any reasonable American should have said "ewwww".Yep I guess so undecided

Here's a summary of his conservative record:

He is not a fan of LGBT rights: In 2003, Pence, then representing the sixth congressional district of Indiana, co-sponsored an amendment that would have prohibited same-sex marriage. Four years later, he voted against the Employee Non-Discrimination Act, which aimed to prevent job discrimination based on sexual orientation. While in Congress, he opposed a bill aimed at more effectively prosecuting hate crimes based on sexual orientation and voted against the repeal of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

He has made life harder for low-income families: Between 2006 and 2009, Pence voted against raising the minimum wage, expanding health coverage for low-income kids, and providing additional funding for Section 8 vouchers, which help low-income families pay rent.

He refused to comply with Obama administration rules aimed at reducing prison rape: In 2014, Gov. Pence wrote to the Department of Justice to argue that the new rules "work only to bind the states, and hinder the evolution of even better and safer practices." He said Indiana would not follow them.

He has supported deporting undocumented children and sick people and favors building a fence on the border (sound familiar?): In 2009, Rep. Pence co-sponsored a bill that would have eliminated automatic citizenship for children born on US soil to undocumented parents. A few years earlier, he voted in favor of bills that would have allowed for the detention of undocumented immigrants seeking hospital treatment. He also voted yes on a bill—foreshadowing Trump's current platform—to build a fence on the Mexico border.

He has decimated access to abortion: In March 2016, Gov. Pence signed a measure prohibiting women from obtaining an abortion because of the race, gender, or disability of the fetus, making Indiana only the second state in the nation to do this. The law also held doctors legally liable for wrongful death if it was found they had performed an abortion motivated by one or more of the prohibited reasons. These sorts of bans are opposed by much of the medical community, out of fear that women will censor themselves when it comes to making difficult decisions with the help of their doctors. Following the Supreme Court's decision in a landmark abortion case in June, a federal judge blocked this Indiana law from going into effect.

He slashed Planned Parenthood funding, spurring clinic closures and an HIV outbreak: In 2011, Pence pushed an amendment through the House to defund Planned Parenthood. This amendment helped kick-start a wave of state actions aimed at removing government support from the women's health provider. Indiana was successful in its efforts, but a federal judge blocked the law from going into effect. When Pence became governor in 2013, Indiana continued to slash resources for the women's health provider. By 2014, state funding for Planned Parenthood had been cut nearly in half from 2005 levels. The organization was forced to close five of its smaller clinics, none of which had ever provided abortions, but they did provide STD testing. Soon, Scott County, Indiana, home to one of the closed clinics, became the hub of an enormous HIV outbreak.

He gave protection to businesses in Indiana that discriminate against gay people: In March 2015, Pence signed a bill into law permitting business owners to refuse service to gay and lesbian customers due to their religious beliefs. The bill also allowed religious beliefs to be used as a rationale for other forms of discrimination. As my colleague Molly Redden described it: "An employer who refused to hire Jewish employees could cite his religious beliefs as a defense against discrimination lawsuits. So could a landlord who refused to rent to Muslims, or a business that refused to serve atheists." In response to this bill's passage, athletes, celebrities, corporate leaders, and others criticized the state publicly, and some even pulled out of planned business projects there. The band Wilco canceled an Indianapolis show, referring to "thinly disguised legal discrimination," and Apple's chief executive, Tim Cook, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post slamming the law.

Why are you having a meltdown over the republican party platform? Your party's platform is to the extreme left too.

If you dont agree with the other side. Vote for your party and stop trying to paint the other as evil. Everybody cannot agree with you lefties. Why are commiecrates trying to silence or bully the people who dont agree with their disastrous policies and opinions?

By the way, you really think a business should be forced to participate in gay weddings if it is against the believe of the owner? Seriously?

Affirmative action is racist and it is based on the idea that blacks cant compete on a level playing field and it diminishes the achievements of blacks.

It's politics Missy, even if there's anything(which is highly unlikely) that I agree with in the GOP platform, truth is am bound to speak against it.It's called 'Delegitimizing the other side'.Something the GOP has been doing well in this election,I'll refer you to Mr Do nothing House Speaker, who has no defense to put up for Supporging Trump but takes a shot at Hillary every chance he's got and other republicans who also attack the Democratic platform as being too far left.

Well am entitled to taking a shot at everything republican till a Democrat has the WH again undecided

We've had the arguement of religious freedom before and I've rightly stated it is purely an unjustifiable bigotry from conservatives who use this as a presence for their hate/dislike/bad judgement/prejudice name it on gay individuals.Should the state force them into taking part in any process of the wedding?I don't agree with this except in the part were probably payment for services has been made or a client is declined half way into a transaction or any other intangible objections to fully carry out their duties as business owners.

Like I've stated befor now, allowing people the right to this sets an awful precedent in American history.Today it is the gays, tomorrow it's a white baker refusing services to a black gay woman,we see this largely affecting sexual minorities but what do we do when it becomes broader and certain business owners could refuse services to a Christian,Muslim,Jew,fat, dwarf,Hispanic, then we understand why such entitlements are wrong, divisive and catastrophic in modern day America.

If you dont like what is in the platform then debate policy and point out what is wrong with it and dont demonize the whole party because they dont agree with you by callibg them bigits. No leftist can debate policy constructively without insulting the other side.

Sorry but that is not an argument. The bill only protects people that dont want to be involved in things that does not go well with their religious belief. Has nothing to so with race.

Besides businesses are voluntary transactions. If someone does not want to provide a service to you, he is the one lossing the money and you take your business somewhere else. You dont have to force them to do anything for you.

Another bill passed the house yesterday that protects nurses and doctors from being suspended at work if they refuse to perform an abortion because of the religous believes and conscience.

If you want people to respect your rights. You have to respect the rights of others and they have the right not to participate in what they dont want to.

If anyone wants to be gay or wants an abortion. You are free to do it. But leave others that do not agree with you to live their lives in peace and dont force them to participate. The conservative core is made up of many evangelicals and the have rights to pratice their religous believes.

You mentioned planned parenthood beign defunded. This is a controversial topic but you dont get to use people's tax dollar to fund what they do not believe in. How will gun control nuts feel if the NRA is receiving government funding?

Never Trump just got crushed in the rules committee. 87-12. It was a bloodbath.

So delegates will not be unbound and Trump's nomination is guaranteed. No presidential vote from me till 2020.

As long as congress remains in the hands of the republicans, I wont care if Hilary is president. Hopefully, Cruz, Walker or Rubio will get the nomination next cycle.

You mean the Theocratic platform that Republicans are expected to govern by.I just imagined if Democrats made attempts to support sharia law to appeal to the Muslim base just as republicans use the bible to appeal to the extremist evangelicals.

The platform is insane and not only does it want to strip away the hard fought civil liberties of others,it intends to impose the bible as the law of the land which elected officials are to put first before the Constitution of the United States. The platform is distasteful and disastrous and it doesn't have plans on how to help Joe or Jane, but it makes plans to enrich the 1% with tax breaks, lower the minimum wage where possible, closely guard corporate interests, such madness that people who are supposedly educated would come out to say 'coal is clean energy',that's not surprising since most of your leaders don't even acknowledge that climate change is real.

The platform also echoed Trump's stance on trade and immigration which is sour for a country that leads the world.

Also not forgetting, the GOP is still the party of war, they no longer choose to recognize a two state solution between Israel and Palestine. At a time when both nations need to come together and negotiate for peace and development in the region.

On religious freedom,I state clearly again,'it is a bad precedent for any business owner to refuse services due to bias or prejudice of an intending client'.Does the language need to be stronger before you understand that liberals are not waging a war on conservatives cause of gays alone,it goes beyond gays,I don't want to live in a society where law abiding non-threatening citizens are refused basic services cause of their sexual orientation. If this is allowed, then black business owners may also start refusing services to whites,or whites refusing services to Latinos,Christians refusing services to Muslims,Jews, just name it.

Keep dreaming. There is no way the house is changing as long as the republicans have 31 governors and control most state legislatures.

Lol. A leftist talking about the constitution? America is a Christian majority country what is wrong with having a Christian platform? The democratic party platform have supported segregation three times in their platform before. What is extremist about evangelicals? That is a disgraceful statement to make. How many gays have the thrown off the building and how many suicide vest have they used this year? This is unbelievable from someone that calls himself a jew. The best ally of Israel in the US have been the evengelicals and you think they are extremists? Really?

Calling someone a 1% is leftist bs. Who is a one percenter? Someone or a household that earns 450k a year. That kind of income will hardly give u any political coult. Besides, it is not as if people in the 1% income range are there permanently controlling the process since people move within income brackets every year and 30 percent of the income earners in the 1% range 3 years ago are no longer there. 60 percent of all the 1% income earners in 2008 before the recession are no longer there.

To give you an idea, 95% of homeowners in san fransisco can be a 1%er if they sell their house. It is a buzz word that doesnt mean anything.

The unions that supports the democrats 100 percent donate more to the election process every year than all the 1% combined. Go look at the numbers.

You are speaking from both sides of your mouth. You want liberties for just the people on your side and want to force others to participate in what they do not believe in. Either by baking your cake or using their money to fund what they do not want. People just want the government out of their lives and live in peace.

If i have my business it is my private property and i get to choose who i want to serve. Let me ask you a question. Can you demand or force a middle eastern restaurant to sell you pork ribs?

You are a jew aren't you? I thought you will like the Gop stance on Israel. Or are you just another liberal jew that doesn't really care?

Gbam. 8 Years of Change Under Obama. On January 20, 2009 when he assumed office. Dow Jones was ,6,266 today it's over 18,500. S&P was 683, today it's 2,500+. Unemployment was 10% now 4.7%. Uninsured Adults was 18% now 11.6%. 9.8% of Deficit of GDP now 2.8%. 37.7% of Consumer Confidence now 98%. We all remember vividly well when 700,000 jobs being lost every month during Bush last year in Offce, now over 80 months of consecutive job gains. Just a glimpse of incredible job Obama is doing to elevate the Economy from the calamity the last Republicon President left us with. It's only brainwashed republicans that are making $30.000 fighting for Tax Cuts for Billionaires and Millionaires. We need Hillary to keep on the good job of Obama. In November, the reality will hit them in the face that Americans don't want Trickle Down Economics. It doesn't work and it will never work. @ Team Hillary.

OK, now I am convinced TRUMP is getting REALLY BAD ADVICE. Pence is a mouse, whomever Clinton picks as a running mate will chew him up and spit him out. He needed an attack dog with the utmost experience.

Even though Gingrich looks old, he is on fire, knows all the scandals, knows all the people, is vocal and smart-articulate. If he dropped some weight, dyed his hair a little, he would be perfect.

Pence is like a piece of cardboard. he looks pale, pasty, old, decrepit and no one under 35 can relate to him.

BAD CHOICE Donald, I have to really start to question your judgement. Maybe you caved into the establishment.
