Angeldepedro:
That's not true, JAMB has already made made clear the official guidelines for admission without post utme, though i believe more names will still be posted. But the talk that JAMB is test running something is laughable, didn't your dad ask what it is they were test running by posting some names and leaving others behind, and no i don't think posting cost any money, it's just as good as uploading names on the internet in a specific school, this is not 1978 when JAMB used to deliver admission letters in your home address,so I don't think posting names via the internet cost money. Read below the guidelines given by the Minister of Education on 11/7/2016 again, though i believe the admission will be done in batches. Merit 45% catchment/locality 35% ELDS 20%
trust me bro people can imagine anything just to give themselves hope. this was how they spread that point system stuff btw how did this article get here in the first place

So your dad and you went to jamb office to hear this baseless story? What a waste of transport resources since its obvious that you spoke to the clueless gate man when you got there. How can he tell you it cost jamb money to post names to its own official website? Do you even know anything about the web at all?. Just go and settle down to prayers coz if by the end of this month you dont get to see your name then someone has replaced it with his son's. Yeah, they can be that wicked. And one more thing, its not ' I and my dad', its 'My dad and I... Thats a simple concord rule.

Jamb, Universities and Minister for education are playing with the lives of the so-called leaders of tomorrow and nothing is being done..... They have messed with our heads, Confused our minds and no one to come to our rescue, They come up with different policies every now and then, policies that can only deposit to their pockets, They kept wasting our time, keeping us idle and waiting in our parents house, Tell me is this what we call Education ??Where we toil even with the level of our preparations before we gain admission, is this even an educated society? The Unis insist on milking us, The Government feigned Protecting us, When is this madness gon stop, When will I have my basic right to education, Who will support my campaign, Who will join the league, Who will fight for us, when will our future be certain.... Who will Voice out to this Tyrant in the jungle, Who will talk sense to their heads. They have to know the true gravity of their policies....... Great Nigerian Jambite and Aspirant...... #WhenWillUPostUs #HowAreYouPosting #JambPosting #Don'tBeBias #WeAreTiredofWaiting.,............. Send to every group you can till Prof Dibu Ojerinde see this msg

PLS FOR THE CLARIFICATION OF JAMB POSTING, READ THIS CAREFULLY AND TRY TO DIGEST THE INFO

JAMB Issues New
Guidelines For 2016/2017
Varsity Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board (JAMB) has on Monday announced
the point system option as its new
guideline for 2016/2017 admission into
tertiary institutions in the country.
The announcement was made after an
extensive one-week meeting between officials
of JAMB, stakeholders, universities and other
tertiary institutions’ administrators.

The admission process would work for Unified
Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE)
candidates and direct entry (DE) students while
universities are to charge fees for screening of
candidates at the end of the process for
admission.

The board explained that the new method
uses a point system, which is divided into
other processes, that is easy to understand.

According to JAMB, “the new method uses a
point system to offer provisional admission to
candidates.”
“Before a candidate can be
considered for screening, he/she
must have been offered a provisional
admission by JAMB. The JAMB
admission checker portal is going to
be opened soon for this process, so
praying is all you can do now,” the
board said.
The statement said, “JAMB’s provisional
admission no longer makes much sense
this year, your points tally will decide
your faith. The points are evenly spread
out between your O’ Level and JAMB
results to provide a level-playing field
for all.
“In the first case, any candidate who
submits only one result which contains
his/her relevant subjects already has 10
points. The exam could be NECO,
WASSCE, November/December WASSCE
etc, but any candidate who has two
sittings only gets 2 points. So this
means that candidates with only one
result are at an advantage but only
just.”
The organisation added that the “next
point grades fell into the O’ Level
grades where each grade would have it
equivalent point; A=6 marks, B=4
marks, C=3 marks, so the better the
candidates’ grades, the better his or her
chances of securing admission this year.
“The next point is the UTME scores
where each score range has its
equivalent point which can be
summarised thus, 180-200=20-23
marks, 200-250=24-33 points,
251-300=34-43, 300-400=44-60
points,” JAMB explained.
In summary, JAMB explained that each
category would contain five JAMB
results per point added.
For example a candidate with 180-185
gets 20 points, while a candidate with
186-190 gets 21 points.
JAMB added that the point system for
direct entry would be released soon.
JAMB stated that fees would still be
charged for screening which would
replace the Post UTME test.
JAMB also emphasised that catchment
and educationally less-developed state
would still be used for admission into
the nation’s tertiary institutions.
JAMB said, “Merit contains 45 per cent
of the total candidates for a particular
course, Catchment contains 35 per cent
and ELDS and staff lists contains the
rest. Cut off marks will be released by
the institutions this year in the form of
points and not marks.
“If a school declares its cut off mark for
Medicine as 90 points and JAMB grants
a candidate with 250 a provisional
admission but his/her total points falls
short of the 90 points, then he/she will
lose the admission. So the provisional
admission is just a means to an end,
not the end in itself.

So pals this is just a provisional admission, after the proper screening of your O Level Results and Jamb Results based on Points calculation, the schools will released their admission list of succesful ones.

same thing i have in mind here have u checked how many student are in the same department and their score,i hv seen someone with jamb score of 233 goin for unilag and each department need 100 students hv u checked hw many scored 250 and above and u with 233 and u said jamb hv not posted u.jamb stated it sofar as u hv upto 180 de will give u admission it might not be ur first choice etheir ur second or the poly dat u filled when u registerd for ur jamb so u guys should relax and give jamb some space
Jamb never said " As long as you get 180 and above, you'd be admitted "...they only said 180 is the minimum cutoff and if u don't meet the cutoff for ur course in that institution, you'd be posted to another institution for admission consideration...... the number of those that scored above 180 is more than the quota for all institutions..so it's not possible for everyone to be admitted
