Personally, I think 10months is too early.

Milo is too sweet and it's also fattening. Your baby might end up preferring it to water.

I think it's best you wait till he's a year+ before introducing it.
Thanks ma.

ma'am,

I think it's your body's way of reacting to the implant.

I'm also on the same implant, the reaction for me is weight loss ( and slight headache which isnt all the time)so I have to up my food intake.

As you said it's one of the side effects, what else can you look into to use especially cos of your baby? If the side effects are really bad such that it doesn't improve after six months, talk with your doctor about switching to something that works better for you. Just make sure to stay protected by starting a new method immediately.

I would suggest also checking other natural things to use to clear it

Sabi mama's will help torchlight this issue . All is well

Newborns fly well but they usually don't recommend anything less than 2-3 weeks because most doctors don't want you exposing that fragile, low-immunity human to a world of germs so soon. But that is a choice you must make. I think you should call ahead after buying your ticket and ask for a travel bassinet. They usually give first come, first served and I've actually not even seen once used in a Domestic flight here. So call and confirm you can by one. If not, you may be told to buy an extra seat for a carseat. You have to give your baby some sort of liquid when taking off due to the change in pressure (feed it or have the baby suck on something). Or the child will scream in pain and be miserable because their ears are popping. The younger, the easier air travel is. They will sleep as newborns but dance around as toddlers.

The most important thing last: You should ask your doctor to clear you for travel after your surgery. Someone we know had her baby, flew back (domestic) a few days or a week after and died 2 hours after getting home. Stress. My mum got to her place to greet her and the baby and met everyone trying to resuscitate her. She had waited long for that child and rushed home, I don't know why. Her husband cried whilst stuck in traffic trying to reach her. Surgery is not something to mess with.

Wow. So sad! Thanks for the detailed explanation. My doctor said we should see him this weekend to discuss it

In additin to what Beryl15 has said:

If you are using a baby carrier do be mindful and ensure you have fully healed as most carriers will strap across your waist/ lower abdomen if you are unsure or are still quite tender consider using a car seat on a buggy frame. The airline should be able to check this in for you at the door of the plane and return it to you when you get off the plane at your destination at no additional cost.

You can also carry the car seat with you on board and If the seat next to you is available you should be able to use it on board when the seat belt signs get turned off. If there is no space the car seat should fit in the overhead storage. If it doesnt, they will take it from you and put into the hold!.

If you are travelling alone, do consider how you will drag baby and carseat plus hand bag or luggage into the plane. If You are travelling with hubby or someone else... give them the carrier to use! Or let them do all the heavy lifting! grin

Thanks a lot for the clarification. With all these many clauses, i'm considering scrapping the journey sef.
My doc asked us to see him though to discuss it.

Wow! One thing I know about that kind of rash is that if you must not burst it. It spreads faster when you do. I kinda think your baby is reacting to something. Try to trace if you changed to a new product. See your pead ASAP[quote author=Amhappy post=47573326]

The pus filled ones would typically indicate impetigo. For that you need to really step up hygiene. Add Savlon to her bathing water. Ensure everyone washes their hands more often especially when handling her. Rinse her clothes after washing with disinfectant. Ensure the house is mopped with bleach and soapy water. You will also need to immediately change all beddings where you place her on.

Try that and lets see!!,

How old is she? Her navel looks likes its not yet fully healed. Keep cleaning with meth spirit and massage lightly with a heated towel after her bath.

Your normal healthy diet should be fine. You can cut back on dairy products, beans and perhaps spicy foods so baby doesn't experience extreme colic. Alcohol is of course a no no!

For poop matters.I'd suggest giving the baby a few teaspoons or.fresh orange juice. Thereafter you have to increase your own intake of fruits and veggies to prevent this going forward.

To.manage your BP you need to generally ease off on stress. As hard as it may sound you actually can fuss less over some things around the house and no one will be hurt
Sleep when baby sleeps if possible. Or delegate when and where you can!

I've heard that bitter leaf juice helps in managing BP. But you have to investigate further as I have no facts immediately

What pump are you using now? When do you attempt pumping?,before or after feeding baby? Is the pump.well attached and so on?,

Good luck and hope this helps!

My dear, I just finished dealing with this bad belle thing. It's really going sha. These are the things I did.

1. Started using Savlon regularly.

2. Rinsed clothes with Dettol.

3. Everyone must wash hands before carrying her (no be insult, I tell them politely).

4. I changed soap to Pielor body wash for babies. Still looking for Dove sensitive. The thing scarce no be small.

5. I was constantly using Methylated powder cos when she sweats the thing begins to itch her, she scratches and gets cranky. So the powder helped to scratch it cos of d menthol and also keep it dry.

6. I also used pure water to bath her for some days to find d root cause.

7. I bought boots lotion, haven't started using it tho' I want the thing to go very well. The ones that have gone left spots.

In all, I'm still watching it sha but with this little I've done. It has greatly reduced. Just to start dealing with d spots. I'm thinking of using baby tribotan for that. But pls if anyone has another idea pls tell me. I have coconut oil and ori o. Abeg anything for d spots to go.

In addition to the wonderful advice given by babythug and other ladies, I think over dressing your baby is aggravating the rash.

From the picture you've posted, it appears she is wearing a top (looks thick) beneath a sleep suit. That's totally uneccesary. Nigeria is hot enough and putting on multiple layers of clothing is just creating more heat and the sweat, moisture, et al is just breeding ground for rashes/it encourages more rash. One light sleep suit is enough. If you feel the weather is too hot, please leave her in diapers for sometime before dressing her up.

When I had my son, by day 3, I was asked to stop wearing cap for my son or wrapping him up in shawls indoors. This was because my home was warm when the midwives came around. In fact, the midwife removed the cap and shawl and that was the last time he had them on indoors. Since then, anytime he's indoors, he has just one layer of clothing on.

Meanwhile, I see people in nigeria overdressing babies as old as one month - cap, shawl, cardigan, multiple clothing in the 35 degrees+ weather and then they "back" the baby further exposing the baby to more warmth/heat. It does no favours to a baby's skin and only leads to one rash or another.

Follow all the advice you've been given and stop overdressing her. You should see changes.

He's hot na. That's why he's sweating.

The weather might be okay to you but it's warm/humid for him. grin this happens to my hubby, son and I. Hubby think house is cold and wants the heating on, meanwhile son and I are both feeling hot and we want the windows wide open. grin

So it's best you get a standing fan, A/C or open the windows.

Is his bed sheet cotton or silk or polyester? Cotton might be best for him as the rest might be one of the reasons why he sweats so much.

I don't think anything is wrong. As my mama will say "Na their way, they always come up with something and their God always protects them". But pls always cover him still because that their sweat Na fake. When they start sneezing and coughing now, u will be wondering that is it not the same person that is always sweating?

Maybe you change his sleep wear to a body suit with socks. Have a light flannel on hand so if it gets cold you cover immediately. Are you sure the room is airy enough?

Na the bastard be that angry highly contagious and stubborn to die.

My son got it around April/may after trying out all sorts, we went to the hospital gave us antibiotics plus one red looking liquid that I add to his bath water, I was instructed not to add any antiseptic to his bath water or apply any cream whilst treating it.

The thing then came out in full force cry complained they said I should continue that the ones inside must come out before it will go finally, it took a month before my son was completely free from that nasty rash.

See a doctor and wash all her clothes with dettol! Sun dry and iron them if you can.Try to also leave her body bare so that air can touch her well cos it itches a lot and heat seems to aggravate it.
