Yes I know so many people will quote Malachi where the bible say bring your tithes to the store house of God, does that mean that is the only way to pay our tithe, if you say so, then explain the other places Bible talked about tithe. In Hebrew bible talks about Abraham paying his tithe to Melchizedek and God also ordered other tribes of Israel to pay tithe to the tribe of Levi because they are not meant to work. So my question is where, who, how, what is the correct way to pay our tithe. Plz I need bible scholars to clear me in this, ur answers are highly appreciated 6 Likes 1 Share |

Vendoor: If he's helping people, it should not be from his tithe. The tithe should be brought to God's house so there can be food. Tithes and offering in the times of the old testament was brought to the house of God as a token of appreciation and so there can be food for the Levites, this is because the Levite's were not allowed to work, their own work was to tend to the house of God as priests. So they had a portion of these tithes and offeting to cater for themselves and their families. Ask the holy spirit for directions. As it pleases the tither. I sometimes give mine to a widow, or help the less privileged, or use it to take my family out (read Deut: 14 :26) If I should pay my tithe to any church, it must be any Orthodox church where their Reverends do not do any other work like the Levis, and not Pentecostal Church where their Pastors are top managers in different organizations. Just imagine a widow in Winners Chapel paying her meager tithe to one of my big manager who is a pastor in Winners? That man avoids any argument about tithe in the office. anywhere!when u help ur neigbhours or help the needy /less privilege with your resources,u are automatically paying tithe....using ur resources to help others happy( especially when they are in need of help). Afterall,tithing is a form of helping God(physically) and to help him physically,u must follow whhat matt 25:35-42 6 Likes 2 Shares |

If you want to, it's advisable you give your tithe to the place your re spiritually nourished. But Tithe belongs in the dispensation of the law, NOT grace. Christians aren't supposed to tithe. Just give as you're led. This isn't to discourage those who still tithe. Let everyone do what their spirit allows. As for me, I DON'T TITHE. 20 Likes 4 Shares |

crunchyg: @op, Malachi doesn't define what tithe is and how to go about paying tithe. It only states the blessings and curses that go with tithe payment or non payment. Deuteronomy 14: 22-29 is the portion that clearly states what tithe is, when and how tithe should be given and administered. Deuteronomy 14:22-29New International Version (NIV) Tithes 22 "Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own. 28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands." There are Stıll churches who there pastors are full tıme pastors(they. Don't have any other job) ın thıs case. Pay ur tithes to the church cos the church depends on it to pay theır pastors and other workers but when the pastor has another job, pls pay to orphanages and motherless homes.. that's my own understanding.. no bible quotation to back ıt up 9 Likes |
