I think it only works when the person dat is to be branded is already in the place that the dead intend to enter. My theory is that if the night king want to pass the wall through bran, then he will have to brand him again only when bran as already pass through the wall. That would give him a link to pass. I think the branding is just temporary.
That a brand from the night king can serve as a portal through and a homing beacon to someone on the other side of an ancient protective spell of the COTF is a recent revelation, a formerly known but unproven and now irrelevant theory was the possibility of bringing down the wall using the horn of joranmun, I suppose as the show continues, more revelations on the countermanding of the wall's ancient spells and/or bringing down the wall will come to light, the night king is a creature of ancient and dark magic who grew beyond the control of his creators and acquired more powers, my theory is that he still has more abilities he is yet to reveal which will be bad news for the living

You might be right.

But be that as it may, it would appear that the night king had hitherto been unable to cross that wall, until the show cast branded stark as a plot device that could potentially serve as a vehicle for the night king's machinations on the south.

I mean if all it took to cross the magical barrier of the wall was a branding, then craster could have served the purpose. He's not far from the wall and already has a working relationship with the nights watch. Or any one of the nights watch company could have been captured and branded during their occasional forays beyond the wall.

That's why i think that the branded stark was and is especially significant. I don't think the night king can piggy back on just anybody. Which again leaves me to think that branded stark can just avert the whole showdown by killing himself or letting himself get killed. At the very least, he can delay the invasion until another raven is born and ventures beyond the wall to get himself branded as well.

Craster? I doubt Craster has any magical powers unlike bran. Also, they wouldn't be building that much army (99 Craster sons or so + mill of wights) if he didn't have a way. Maybe the winter gives them strength or whatever.

I always try not speculate about any factors that have not been explicitly or implicitly expressed on the show.

This is not the long first winter, and the guys who originally defeated the white walkers and had the presence of mind to put up a gigantic wall like that, would have done the same on the coast if a frozen sea was a factor.

Also a decision to walk over a frozen sea to bypass the wall raises questions of geographic knowledge, cartography, etc. It would require specialist navigational skills...skills that the show has not hitherto hinted as being part of the night kings repertoire.

So for these reasons, I will discount the theory of frozen seas.

So far, all we know is that the dead cannot currently pass the wall due to magical barriers. We also know that the night king can bypass these protections by piggybacking on the branded stark. Finally we know that Branded stark knows these facts as well.

I think that it would be incredibly selfish for Branded to cross the wall in the knowledge that he is literally the only known channel for crossing the wall available to night king.

It appears that night king can appear to branded stark almost immediately as well, so there's no guarantee that Bran would make it to Jon before the night king decides to show up.

For that reason, I think it would be gross irresponsible for Branded to cross that wall as things currently stand 9

We also know that the wall doesn't surround the whole of Westeros. How did that girl that served the starks cross? (Or didn't she? Am not sure) . Anyway, this winter is rumored to be the longest i think

Varys is a merman

Certainly one of the strangest Game of Thrones theories doing the rounds is that Varys is a merman. Such creatures do exist in the Song of Ice and Fire universe and are known as "merlings". In the books, Varys's smile is described as peculiar and "slimey", and when Tyrion threatens to throw Varys in the sea, he replies: "You might be disappointed in the result." Some
viewers were also surprised at the speed with which Varys travelled the long distance from Meereen to Dorne in season six. Might he have swam with the help of a hidden fishtail?

A key part of the theory is that he is helping Dany so her dragons will fight the White Walkers with fire in the north, melting the ice so that the merlings can flourish – with only Littlefinger and the Eyrie left above water. "That's right," says Dan Casey, senior editor at Nerdist. "The entire saga of Game of Thrones could be an elaborate 'mer-scheme' to expand their territory."

Fake Arya goes to Westeros

The end of season six's episode eight saw Arya Stark announce that her time in Braavos with The Faceless Men was over after she defeated the pesky Waif. She says she wants to return to Westeros to rejoin her family - but what if the girl we saw was not really Arya but the Waif in disguise? Fans point out that we never
see her actually kill the Waif, nor the Waif properly dead and burned, which in Game of Thrones could mean their character will
be resurrected. In an alternative fan theory, Arya and the Waif will be revealed as the same person, in a Fight Club-like twist.

Who is really the Prince that was promise?

Ok, so we all know that Stannis Baratheon was said to be the Prince That Was Promised, but since he died, it's obvious that he can't him or can he? The Prince That "Was" Promised has the specific word, "was." Implying past tense. Stannis Baratheon fullfills this role as he died, he WAS the PTWP. However, think about about his two particular companions: Sir Davos and Melisandre. These two are particularly important because they represent the modern day angel and devil that stand on people's shoulders when they make a decision. (there's even an scene which shows Sir Davos to the left of Stannis and Melisandre to the right while Stannis stares straight ahead contemplating both of their "advice. Unfortunately, for Stannis, he chooses the "devil" or in this case Melisandre who appeals to his greed for power. He choose her over and over again through countless of decisions that he regrets such as Shireens trial. When he dies, he accepts that he deserves the death, and dies hoping he can see his daughter and wife again. After his death, he truly is the Prince that "Was" Promised. That then begs the question: Who is the Prince That "IS" Promised? Simple, who else but Jon Snow? And just like Stannis he has the two advisors, Sir Davos and Melisandre(the classic angel/devil situation). But unlike Stannis, he doesn't listen to the devil. He knows whats the right thing to do is and he listens to the angel: Sir Davos. So much so, that he even sends the devil away by telling her that if she were to ever set foot in the north again, he would execute her. My friends, Jon Snow, is the Prince That Is Promised, and he will claim what is his natural right as the Targaryen heir and win the Game of Thrones.

she did kill the girl and put her face as one of the mask. also the producers have explained that it took long for varys to travel to and fro but nothing much was happening while he traveled so it didnt take much storyline time.

in other issues, i dont see how or why sam will be the narrator...he doesnt know or experience much and worse, he is stuck in a library now.

Check out This guy Game of Throne Happy Ending Theories.

Yesterday is commented a few ideas about how Game of Thrones could have a righteous end; I decided to expand oit a little bit covering up more characters. Most of it is really unlikely to happen but who knows... Note: I'm going to follow the tv show perspective for this one.

The Fate of The Seven Kingdoms After finding out the he was the true heir, Jon decides to abolish the monarchy instead of taking the throne. The "small" council (That's now formed by a lot more of persons, including lowborms) will now rule Westeros through more democratic ways. The council will include Davos Seaworth and is going to lead by Daenerys Targeryen, not a queen but as an elected leader.

The Iron Throne's Fate During the Last Battle of series, Littlefinger decides to sit on the Throne after putting Daenerys against Jon, believing that this would cause the demise of both of them. Among some casualities, they see through Littlefinger's scheme and one of the dragons(It should be Viserion, as a callback to Viserys' death) and burn him alive along with the Iron Throne.

Tyrion's Fate Having won many battles in his life, Tyrion decides to not be a a part of the "Large Council", instead he travels through Westeros to find the love of his life, Tysha. In his company, there is his good friend, Bronn. Jaime said he would give the lordship in Casterly Rock for him as token of brotherhood.

Jaime's Fate Even though he's considered a hero by some for putting an end to the Mad Queen's reign, he still has a dark reputation among Westeros. He retires to live as a farmer in Tarth along with Brienne; They have a child named Catelyn Lannister.

Bran and Arya's fate Now that's a tricky one, it's hard to imagine what will happen with Bran in the end and i don't see him as the Lord of Winterfell. The same goes to Arya considering her connection withe the Faceless Men. Let's keep it a mystery for now.

Jon's Fate Jon not only decided to abdicate the title of King of Westeros but also the tilte of King in the North. He lives with the Free Folk now. After the Wall was destroyed and the White Walker were extinct, Jon decided to colonize the lands further in the North, that have become more sunny after the spring. He comes to visit his family in Winterfell from time to time. Some say he married a redhead wildling.

Sansa's Fate Sansa is now the Lady of Winterfell, for the surprise of many she decided to marry a lowborn. They have a child who is known as Ed Stark (Full name: Eddard Stark)

Stark and Lannister's Legacy The decades long feud between House Lannister and Stark is put to an end when Cate Lannister gets bethored to Ed Stark. The two met when they were both 15 and fell in love with each other.

House Baratheon and Bastards' Fate After the death of all the trueborn Baratheons, Davos, aware of the exstence of Gendry, helps him to claim Storm's End by legitimizing him and also allowing all the bastards to use their parents' name. Jon decides to keep Snow, because he's not ashmed of his name.

Daenerys' Fate Having almost causing the living to lose the War against the dead because of her fear of Jon Snow taking the Throne, Dany decides to redeem herself and her family's name by being a fair leader.

That's all i can think of.
