I Dont Think My Ministers And Aides Are Corrupt - Buhari by NaijaEfcc(op): 7:36am On Jul 20, 2016
By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA—Again, President Mohammadu Buhari has come to the rescue of his ministers and aides, absolving them of any corrupt practices. President Buhari This came on a day the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, refuted claims in some quarters that the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was targeted at members of the opposition party and other perceived enemies, saying the view was grossly incorrect and unfounded. Recall that the President had, during his first media chat last December, said none of his ministers was corrupt. “I don’t think I tolerate corruption, I don’t think I picked anybody that I know will embarrass my government. But if you have any evidence about any of my ministers, I accept responsibility for the 36 ministers that I have. ‘’I don’t think I took anybody among the ministers who has got a case in court. Tell me one out of the 36. I don’t think I will deliberately make that mistake,” he said. He spoke against the back-drop of reports, particularly by online media, that the immediate past Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC,, who is also Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, was being investigated over crude oil swap deals and gas lifting during his tenure as GMD of the petroleum corporation. In a statement by his media aide, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari appealed for decent and civilized comments, particularly when it had to do with the integrity of those serving the country. “Terrible and unfounded comments about other people’s integrity are not good. We are not going to spare anybody who soils his hands, but people should please wait till such individuals are indicted,” the President said. Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has refuted claims in some quarters that the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was targeted at members of the opposition party and other perceived enemies, Osinbajo, who fielded questions from newsmen at the end of the 27th Ordinary session of African Union in Kigali, Rwanda, yesterday, said the speculation was the handiwork of those who wanted to trivialize the anti-corruption war and stop the government from recovering stolen funds. He said:  “I think it’s entirely absurd, I think that view is absurd and without foundation or basis whatsoever. We look at corruption from all possible facets. ‘’If you look at, for example, corruption on the military, from military procurement, obviously the only individuals responsible for that could be persons who had held office within the period in question and that has been done and clearly the opposition, APC, was not in office at that time.”

Is it what this biased dullard thinks or what he needs to find out and be sure about it? So you only go after people your tiny mind conceive to be corrupt and not people whose deeds show to be corrupt. Closing your eyes to the mountains of petitions against your friends makes you a thief as well.

This statement has rubbished that his "I am for everybody and for nobody" I am sure the writer of that speech didn't explain the meaning of that to him. He shouldn't be seen to be taken sides especially in matters like this. This invariably means he is actually practicalising the theory of " stealing is not corruption " once it is done by his friends.

Sir, when you are done with your tenure and someone else who favours a holistic approach to things comes in, then, we will know whether or not your ministers and aides are corrupt.

For now, just lead us well.

Buhari and his Apc are planting seeds of discord, hatred, divisions, enmity, revenge and tribalism orchestrated by their revengeful greed, insatiability, pettiness, exploitations, witchhunts, marginalisations and utmost selfishness thereby exposing Nigeria and Nigerians to the highest level of tyranny, authocracy, dictatorship and despotism. The way things are going now, the masses of this nation are fast loosing faith, beliefs and political confidence on this heavily biased one sided govt, governance and leadership. This govt has completely abandoned true leadership and governance for mediocrity, witchhunts and political vendettas creating daily more and more opposition and agitations fronts to engage in endless political and economic battles which would overburden the principles of true democracy, civilizations, modernizations, good governance, liberations and freedom from Nigeria's present

An investigation by SaharaReporters has revealed that officials of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration are blocking an investigation into massive fraud committed by a Nigerian oil firm, Sahara Energy.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on May 26 raided the Lagos and Abuja headquarters of Sahara Energy. However, EFCC sources told our correspondent that officials of the government ordered the anti-corruption agency not to publicize the raid.

SaharaReporters learnt that EFCC agents seized computers from the firm, but interventions from high-level officials of the Buhari Source;Saharareportersregime meant that the investigation has not advanced or see the light of the day.

Our sources named Mr. Buhari's Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, as a key ally of Sahara Energy, and the official behind attempts to scuttle the firm's billion dollar fraud.

The current chairman of the Petroleum Products ‎Pricing Regulatory Agency, Mohammed Buba, who was appointed on May 25 during the labor strike against fuel price increase, was a director at Sahara Energy.

Our sources said that Chief of Staff Kyari had since his appointment worked to shield Sahara Energy from any serious investigation.

Mr. Buba, who is from Borno State, is one of the Chief of Staff’s closest friends. He was a former MD of Pipelines and Product Marketing Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

SaharaReporters learned that Mamman Daura, one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s closest friends, is also involved in efforts to cover up investigations into Sahara Energy.

An investigator disclosed that EFCC operatives found significant information regarding how former Oil Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke used the firm to funnel funds to third parties. The source disclosed that the funds in question amounted to close to $400 million.

Sahara Energy is named as one of the firms that reaped hundreds of millions of dollars through crude oil swap deals introduced by Ms. Alison-Madueke during her ministerial tenure.

The former minister's offshore processing agreement with Sahara Energy also involved the owner of Aiteo, Benny Peters, Atlantic Energy, owned by Jide Omokore, and a fugitive oil dealer, Kola Aluko. Investigators believe that the firms made away with at least $4 billion of public funds through the opaque arrangements.

Much of the revelations against Sahara Energy has come from fraud suspects currently under investigation by the EFCC. One of our sources said the informants were amazed that Sahara Energy has so far been shielded from the kind of publicity and shame extended to much smaller players.

Last month, a company registered by Sahara Energy, Actus Integrated, was revealed as having given $60 million through Fidelity Bank to help former President Goodluck Jonathan rig himself into office during the 2015 presidential election.

One source told SaharaReporters that the company might have equally donated heavily towards President Buhari’s presidential campaign through his friend Maman Daura and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
