We got it all wrong the moment a single criteria( ability to fight against corruption) was used to select him.

Embezzlement of public fund is on the decline and the economy is on the decline more than proportionate. It does make sense.

GEJ had better economic team but he compromised the standard due to his second term ambition.

You are almost right but you forgot to add that Buhari is the paramount problem the Nigerian economy faces as of today ..his lack of foresight and clear vision will jeopardise any economy in the world ..do you realise till date the man is still running without even a budget

Part of her job is fore seeing this recession , I remember back then when Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala usually warn the nation about what's bound to happen if measures aren't taken or adhered to. This current one is just so nonchallant leaving the job only to the CBN Governor.

When CBN reversed the policy of Dollar, I knew something was wrong somewhere and they were just trying to apply a shock therapy. Now, Its glaring that the naira has be devaluated and further inflation might make the country slip into total recession. Then we would start to dance to the tune of the IMF as they patiently waiting for us to approach them.

I guess the best thing to do is to cut down on salaries and other public expenditure for the now as the CBN governor said and ban some irrelevant importation to force product and and patronage of our local made Products before we start thinking of diversification.

We don't really need FDIs; what we need is self sustainability. With that there will not be much importation which is the major issue we are having. We are importing everything including petroleum products.

FDI will not even come where there is nothing to reap. They came earlier because we were making money from oil which they could easily exploit and go as far as laundering some cash in connivance with Government officials. Right now we have nothing to offer.

The solution to our present crisis is diversification which cannot happen overnight. We should have moved towards that over the years but free oil money made us think less about future without oil. That is one advantage of the present pipeline destruction going on in Niger Delta as it will force FG and States to look beyond oil for survival.

Politics of bitterness is one of the major reasons for this quagmire. Our oil production has been cut by half with oil prices equally down meaning we are losing more than 55% of our projected income. You cannot blame Buhari for that. If he wants a quick solution he'd declare war on some sections of the country in order to control oil production. I am sure you will kick against that.

Emefiele is competent but Nigerian economy is facing hard times like most oil dependent economies. Ours is even worse as our output is down by 50%. What do you suggest as a fire brigade approach to the present situation?

First I must make it clear that o was part of those who voted Buhari. ..part of why I describes Buhari as vision less was the ease with which he allowed the fragile peace in the Niger delta at a time when our economy needed to maximise ever petrol dollars we could lay our hands on ..A leader with vision wouldn't have stirred the hornets net at a time like that . ..now due to his vision less fiat methods we are loosing production in millions of barrels daily at a time when oil price are even low. I warned against any drastic move against corrupt ex militants till at least the economy had been buffered and other sources of income created but Buhari was urged on by blind hawks
