Dear Bunmi,

There is this girl I love, and she loves me in return.

We hang around together, read and do almost every thing together, but, she has refused to date me because she’s a year older than me even though she still shows me love and wants to be around me.

When I talk about relationship, she's not happy and never wants to talk about it. I really don't know what to do, please help me.

From my perspective, a year difference is still negligible where problem lies is when the lady is say about 6 or more years older then we are most likely to have the kind of situation one Nigerian celebrity is currently facing.
I for one don't mind dating an older lady as long as the gap is not more than 5 years and she happens to be someone who takes care of herself (regular working out and things like that)

I believe it boils down to the personalities of the people involved in such a relationship and the Cash carrying capacity of the guy

I believe it has to do with the way folks in our part of the earth are wired, the mom will be the first to scream if her son happens to be planning a life with an older lady.
