Surprisingly, the long awaited video shoot for Drake’s One Dance took place in South Africa. The problem is Wizkid was absent in the video shoot. It may have come as a shocker to most Nigerians but not me, i foresaw the possibility of Wizkid having no appearance in the video. That's what a nigerian musician get when he belittle himself or herself. Who is drake,how many albums has he succeeded in. Okay look at Davido that is collaborating with an unknown singer,Tinache. Nigerian musicians are talented but they always see themselves inferior to the western singers. Where is Dbanj,the kokomaster now. I thought he feature snoopdogg in one of his song,and that was his undoing. Never you belittle yourself,cos no one has the monopoly of been special or unique. Don't quote me. 2 Likes |

When I heard Wizkid was featured by Drake, I had to go check it out and well I wasn't surprised. The thing is, it is easier for Nigerian artistes to feature American artistes because we have fully accepted their music and lifestyle, but they are yet to accept ours. If an American artiste features a Nigerian artiste on a song I wonder "what accent" he or she will be using to sing. I hope it wouldn't be a fake American English accent though. Well, bravo to Wizkid for doing us proud, but I didn't see the impact of Wizkid on the song. Nigerian artistes don't need to fake their Engish accents to be accepted internationally.... Everyone has an accent and music they are known with...we must sell our brand of music to the world just like America has succeeded in selling theirs to the world. To me, that one dance is trash, besides, i didn't hear wizkid's voice. I am not a wizzy fan but his song with tinie tempah " mamacita" is nice. Thats how somebody gets featured. Kudos to wizkid on that one. |
