Oh I get it now, why not just clean it out with a wet cotton wool instead of the breast milk? That's what many mamas here have advised in the past.

It's in her genes! You or your DH did it as a baby(maybe till now unconsciously grin) she will out grow it but in the mean time keep telling her to close her mouth or else fly will enter inside, and make a buzzing sound like that of a fly to make her feel like a fly is actually coming to enter her mouth! It worked for my nephew.

Not me maybe her dad, she was initially sucking her fingers but I was able to stop that early only for her to start this. if u tell her to close her mouth, she will just smile and do but after a few minutes, its out again. Thanks ma.

Google has it that if a baby can sit up, hold his head, doubled his birth weight, shows interest when one eats and baby is on big size, then he can start solid at 4months.
With YouTube video coupled with the baby food I learnt here, I went to market, bought oat, popatoes, apple, banana and mashed bowl.
With all eagerness, I made banana puree on day 1. With style I fed him. Day 2, I made mashed potatoes, it was tug of war to feed him few teaspoons. Day 3, I made Oats soup after blending it, he cried so tey I've decided to exclusive breastfeeding till 6months. Only thing is that he's always hungry as his tummy always flattened few minutes of feeding for a long time

Blend into puree and add breast milk, the mashed texture is for crawlers. My 8months old battles with mashed food so I've resolved to feed him puree till whenever he is ready! I mashed boiled sweet potato with butter, boiled fish, carrots and bell peppers he refused it till I blended it into puree and he ate undecided

He also takes oats banana and strawberry puree well.

Gudmorning my sweet mamas in the house! How are our bundles of joy? Hope they are bubbling. May The Good Lord Who gave them to us guide and protect them. May they grow in good health and be a blessing to us, just as what the word of God said in (Psalm 127:3) that children are a gift from the Lord;they are a real blessing. And May He give us the grace to direct and bring them up in a way they should follow, and when they grew up they will not depart from it. Happy New Month to us all. May this month be a month of Success, Breakthrough,Opendoors and Upliftment to us IJN... Amen!

Good day mamas, please I need your experience on this matter. My 10months DS is super active and once we are outdoor he loves to be freed because stay indoors mostly . We went for a church programme yesterday and after holding him for an hour plus he cried to be free and rejected all toys because he wanted to play around and people started looking at our direction as he was joyfully playing around laughing and screaming. Two men out of the people sitting close to us scolded him and told us it is too early for him to want to have his way and he love to play too much. That we should be beating him and not letting him play alot because if we don't correct him at this age it will be difficult later. I and hubby felt bad and embarrassed at the end of the programme. Please, I need advice or suggestions on how to curtail his activeness.

I don't no why am so annoyed reading this maybe becos i have an active baby....How could they , My DD is super active and she loves to play alot, in fact she pulls anybody sitting close to us, she makes faces and laugh loud especially when songs are sang.Nobody dare tell me to beat her, are they okk ..Don't allow anybody make u and Dh feel guilty in anyway, babies will always behave like 1, always sit at the back and pls let the young man play jare...Kisses and hugs to him.

At 10 months it will difficult to curtail any play as he is still too young to understand he is in church.

Naija people sef too dey do. Those silly men have probably never has any experience trying to keep an infant entertained or quiet in a public place, they are the kind of people that paying school fees is the only definition they have of being a father.

If them too vex say pikin dey play they should go and sit in the pulpit! If he was like 2 or even 3yrs i would have said they have a point! But at 10 months! If me i tell my 8 month old shhhhh! Na full blown hysterical laugh go follow! She go think say na new game!

Next time may be try and sit at the back, or where there is a bit of space incase the wants to wander about. And you can sneak out quietly to have a bit of fresh air! Or runaround time.

Even with a kid, i dont think its right for parents who allow thier kids wander up and down the main aisles!

thanks Liftedhands and tchiwinnie. Will try that though mom thinks I'm doing abasha and bought Friscogold but not giving him. Nothing but homemade.

In the other news, when D's refused the oats, without asking, dh took it up and ate 2spoons only to ask if I added breastmilk. I said yes. He quickly went to throw up. kikikikiki... What's wrong with breast milk when we take cow's milk. ordinary animal

grin grin grin grin at hubby's reaction!

I agree with liftedhands and tchiwinnie.
@ 4 months, it needs to be really smooth for babies to take it. So puree everything if your blender wont get it smooth enough, get a fine wire mesh seive and press through after blending to remove any lumps, seeds etc.

At that age, just couple of teaspoons is sufficient per meal. Remember it is to introduce other tastes as well as your baby learning how to move food from the front of his mouth to the back with his tongue and swallow. This is a new thing for a baby used to sucking only and it will take a while for him to master so dont go forcing him to eat as he may just associate weaning as a stressful event and resist it .

sayoddy, why not chill and wait till 6 months before introducing solids? you are almost there and less than 2 months away from the 6months mark.

at 6 months, the organs are more developed, better head control, he can sit in a high chair and so are baby's pincer movements, eye coordination, taste buds, etc.

my mum produces moringa tea and powder. and she is NAFDAC approved.

if you are in abuja, i can get it for you
if you are in another state, i can ask her if she has a distributor there so you can buy directly from the person.

My 9months old son is a natural 'chopper' but after recovering from malaria like a week ago, his eating focus shifted from his pap & milk to strictly adult food like Eba, Rice, Beans, Noodles e.t.c Before the malaria he eats adult food + 330ml of pap to step down.... Now he won't even taste the pap at all and am confused on ways to make him keep taking milk. I still breastfeed him but my not lactating properly makes me feel the breast milk isn't sufficient for him. I have tried introducing other cereals like Nutrilac & Cerelac....He doesn't like sweet things at all (That's how he has been).

How do I get him to take milk....I want to make sure he takes milk everyday?? Also do kids grow to like sweet things?? He won't even take Capri-sonne embarassed
