No offence guys but i just dont understand how you get a first class in the university and cant pass your way through job tests and interviews. Thats an irony.. i always hear of cramming to get a first class but i always believed that cant be possible, but now this thread is giving me that impression. All the best in your hustle for survival tho, i am also in a similar shoe, although i didnt make a first class.

The question is how many slots are available? I've not written my tests myself, but my elder bro with a 2:1 attended a test in which the no of listed 1:1 were 30+, 2:1 were nearly 200 and they needed only 15. so how about that?

And what about when u don't even get shortlisted?

I doubt this forum will give "us" jobs. Serious companies have a first class and second class upper minimum so being a first class doesn't matter any longer cos you are on par with everyone after you've passed the test. Besides most of us can't even pass these aptitude tests cos they crammed all through school. Only a few genuine first and 2.1 holders are available.
Companies don't look for us. That's a misconception we have, if we rewind the clock forty years back then yes but not now and never now.
Companies put out job advertisements and you apply. If your "skills" and I repeat "skills" match the requirements then you will be shortlisted for a test which exposes your intellectual ability. Your grade only gets you through the door.
Thank you. Let's work harder and build our skills then amazing jobs would be ours. It's not by our "First class".

Good post. Guys on this thread should learn from this post. Don't relax thinking the first class will bring you the job just like that, show that you are truly a first class person by acquiring skills that makes you stand out. Go for a masters or professional course if you have the opportunity. A person with 2.2 with a PhD or professional qualification will be ranked higher than you with just first class.

Guys, why not register at manexthr.com. fill your details on the database and let employers find you. its not easy, i went through a lot but they helped me. no scammers please o! Was told they need engineers.

pardon me if this is a bit off topic, but one thing i've noticed is that alot of pressure is placed on first class grads, people expect you to be some what extraordinary, you are expected to know everything about everything, you are not permitted to miss a single interview question (technical or non technical). if you pass an aptitude test nobody congratulates you they'll just say "na first class, na normal thing" but once you fail, the next thing is that people would start doubting your result, automatically you're a scam first class who doesn't have anything upstairs. when you tell the average nigerian that you graduated with a 1st, the next thing on their mind would be "lets test him", "does he really deserve it", he must be one of those "la cram la pour" people. Also i've noticed that the beef against 1st class grads is really strong, especially amongst 2:1 grads who claim to be far better.
But the thing is 1st class grads are just normal individuals like you and me, they don't have an extra brain hidden somewhere. 1st class grads are smart quite alright but they are not robots and they are permitted to make mistakes.
