JAMB 2016 – Zone-by-Zone Ranking

According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was conducted from Saturday, February 27 to Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with 1,592,305 registered candidates.

The examination was conducted throughout Nigeria and eight foreign centres, namely:

Benin Republic
Cameroon,
Côte d’Ivoire,
Ethiopia,
Ghana,
Saudi Arabia,
South Africa, and
United Kingdom
Plans for admission into tertiary institutions are ongoing.

However, nobody has ever published a report that shows how the six zones of Nigeria stand in this annual examination into Nigerian higher institutions. What the media usually publish are highlights of the top states and least states as regards number of candidates and similar information.

For the first time in Nigeria, a zone-by-zone breakdown is made public by Writers War Room.

While filling the JAMB form, each candidate enters his or her state of origin, irrespective of state of residence. This helps JAMB to know how many people from each state registered for the exam, and which state is improving or decreasing or even stagnant in this annual examination that determines those who get admitted into universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

The zonal breakdown is as follows in alphabetical order:

JAMB 2016 Statistics!!! OSUN, OYO, IMO Has Highest Number Of Applicants

Imo, Osun and Oyo states are said to have the highest number of applications with the figures,
Imo - 102,727
Osun - 83,060
Oyo - 81,06
respectively.

According to previous figures from JAMB, the SW had the highest number of candidates in Nigeria with two states from there making top 3, so which one is Azuka the blogger giving us again?

This year's JAMB was utterly useless and marred by so much inefficiency, smh!

South east is firing on all cylinders .There's serious surge in pursuit of education in se.kudos!

Your question has no bearing but I'll give you an idea. Imo has the highest no of proffessors & Phd holders in Nigeria. Imo has the highest number of people in federal civil service. Imo produces the highest number of unity school candidates every year. Imo produces the highest number of candidates for WAEC on yearly basis. Imo is allocated the highest cut off mark in every FG entrance score. IMO STATE IS UNARGUEBLY THE MOST EDUCATIONALLY ADVANCED STATE IN NIGERIA!!!!!

Why are you so pained & envious? Futo is in which state? Go to most federal universities/colleges across Nigeria & check their states of origin, the outcome will surprise you. You are obviously not smart otherwise you'l know that dull students dont study up to Phd level. Why wont I encourage states that are doing well, which you, a bigot, now termed tribalism.
