THE CYBERCRIMES (PROHIBITION, PREVENTION,ETC) ACT,2015 was signed into Law by outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 ....so the mudslinging is a tad unnecessary. Having stated that .....allow me to attach a snapshot of the section that punishes the offence of "Cyberstalking" in the said Act. Then you endeavour to juxtapose it with Sidiq's recent encounter with Doyin Okupe. (in doubt?....Google that)

It's not just enough we raise issues....we should also be seen taking sound legal positions on those issues.

Arresting him is not the problem, EFCC making the arrest is the issue. There are certain crimes outside the jurisdiction of EFCC, how is cyber stalking an economic crime?

And about CIA O boy! Do you know the crazy stuffs and conspiracy theories printed in papers and posted online about the CIA everyday? It will shock you to know that, a good percentage of people in America still believe that the terrorists attack on 9/11 was a CIA inside job, some even still believe that the CIA was behind the assassination of JF Kennedy, and they have dedicated websites for these.

America is a hot belly of false and misleading conspiracy theories and none of these people has been questioned, arrested or stopped on the street....just google things like 'insults against Obama' or 'lies about the CIA', and other stuffs in that line and see the results that you will get.

Apart from crimes against public trust and treason, the government have no business questioning or arresting citizens in a democratic government about injustices the government felt.

The government answers to the people and the have the right to question the motives and sincerity of the government. Using cyberstalking as an outlier to implement dictatorial policies is shameful. In a democracy, it is not possible for citizens to stalk their government becos, the very essence of democracy implies that citizens must be very critical and vocal about their government and seek to know what they are doing at all time, and demand answers, sometimes annoying ones from them. That crime is only applicable when the aggrieved is a private citizen.
