Are we saying because someone is a pro-govt blogger, he shouldn't be held accountable if he engages in cyber crime activities? Allowing that will amount to allowing impunity just because he is pro-govt and it's same all of us that will later complain of executive indifference.

I bet many don't even care to know that the Cyber Crime Act was signed into law by GEJ and two bloggers have previously been held and charged as a result.

We won't know the specific offence yet but cyber offences could be financial or economic in nature. We have to wait to find out.

Does this look like a crime under the purview of the EFCC? The best option the EFCC boss had was to sue Abu Sidiku to court if he felt maligned and stalked but instead he opted to illegally abducted him ..I will say it serves Abu Sidiku well but as an upright and fair citizen who will always stand for the truth I must say he was wronged

It can be if the stalking is done with the intent to extort money. .. EFCC is yet to say who he was stalking.

in criminal matters, there is nothing like intent to commit crime, it can't stand the test of law, except the crime was committed and the person failed. Check the efcc act, or and of their charge sheet, you will noticed that it's always in the past tense form, meaning a criminal act was committed in financial or economic form, if it's for economic gain, the statement should involve EXTORTION.
I have no issues with the arrest if he committed a crime or suspected to have, but not by efcc, with this, they might start setting road blocks.
