Mr. Minister forgot to mention who initiated and started the project.

Initiating and or starting a project is not an accomplishment my dear. There thousands of initiated /started but abandoned govt projects nationwide. Before now, every new govt in power abandons projects of their predecessors no matter how relevant it was, only to start another one of similar or different type just to award contracts to cronies. But the present administrations has been doing otherwise, completing inherited projects and commissioning them for Nigerian to whom it was really meant for.
This is change. Sadly, Nigerians are fighting the govt out of shame of seeing what their hero couldn't complete now being completed.
I weep for our youths, because with this fishbrain mentality Nig may never recover. The so-called "future leaders " do not have the right attitude to champion their future they are showing any evidence that they are or can be better than the generation they are blaming for years of national disaster and disgrace.

NDDC provides 186-room hostel for UNIBEN ON JULY 4, 2012
FOR the over 800 medical students of the University of Benin who have been faced with accommodation problem, succour has come to them following the construction of 186 rooms hostel complex by the management of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The project which was conceived and awarded in 2004 was left fallow until the coming of the present board of the NDDC. It cost over N1.3 billion. Edo State Commissioner for NDDC, Barr. Henry Okhuarobo while inspecting the project expressed happiness that the project was almost completed, and would help to alleviate the accommodation problem of the university. According to him, “although this project is one of those yet to be completed, hopefully we are delivering this project next month, but the target date which we set for ourselves was this month, but because of the volume of work and to minimize errors, the contractor has said that July would be the best time for delivery. “You will recall that this project was awarded initially in 2004 and had lain fallow for many years until last year when the present board of NDDC started fast-tracking the project. We are happy and you can see for yourselves and come to your conclusion what you are seeing in UNIBEN Medical Students’ Hostel where we are standing now. “The capacity of this hostel is 186 rooms to accommodate over 800 students. We also have other facilities like computer room, super markets, water borehole, etc.”

you guys should stop this trash jare! Have u been to the north before? Whr is the development up north? The North still remained the least developed part in Nigeria. They only have good roads, all thanks to the paucity of rains that make roads last longer.

i av bin to d north wella.,but i get confuse wen i hear pple like u talk of development in north (our oil money to develop d north) they dnnt av gud healthcare.,no schools,,some of d houses dnnt even use light,,lil or no companies to giv SR ,,so much beggers,,u r eatin @ there canteen children r waitin to carry ur leftovers ,,lots of beggers,,there social life is nothing to write home about ,,so much underdevelopment to behold yet pple like yu let ur tribalism cloud wats glaring to ur eyes ...pls state d development ur oil money as brought to d northerners if nt to there politicians,,same as ur politicians

What's been happening to the allocation to NDDC for 8 years when all the CEOs are from the ND.

Abuja to kaduna highspeed train, was built with our oyel money and there nothing like it in the niger delta.
