Boko Haram Insurgents Burn Army Base In Yobe, Kill Three Soldiers, 171 Others Missing
The terrorists were aided by local informants and sympathisers before attacking the military base.


Boko Haram insurgents have launched a major attack on the base of the special forces of the 27 Task Force Brigade, located in Ngomari in Buni Yadi and Kumuya in the Buni Gari area of Yobe State, killing three soldiers while about 171 others reportedly fled the base or are missing in action.

Military sources told SaharaReporters that the insurgents destroyed heavy military equipment and shared photographs of gun trucks razed by the insurgents.


“The terrorists attacked us on Friday morning. They attacked the military base and burnt it down. Three soldiers were killed, one injured, while about 171 are missing. The base is deserted but we have called in for reinforcements,” a military source said.

“One Camel MRAP was burnt, one 105MMPH Artillery gun burnt, one Conqueror and one T72 tank were also burnt. The terrorists also set the camp ablaze,” another source revealed.

SaharaReporters learnt that the terrorists were aided by local informants and sympathisers before attacking the military base.

During the attack, the terrorists used heavy weapons in destroying military equipment and patrolled the community to prevent the reinforcement of soldiers.

It was learnt that the insurgents withdrew when reinforcements from the Nigerian troops came to the base.

The Nigerian troops have presently also restricted movement along Damaturu-Damboa-Biu Road following the attacks by the insurgents.

Nigeria Army can wipe off Boko Haram within a week but the greed of Nigerian politicians and Army Generals including the Commander in Chief will not allow them do it. I only pity innocent soldiers.

After listening to the revelation on Isa pantami's past, you begin to understand why we may never win the war on terrorism under this administration.. the sect has too many undercover sympathisers masquerading as patriotic citizens in various seats of Government and the populace.

Imagine such nominee passed through all the intelligence agencies and various arms of Government to become minister out of 200m... come on.

Imagine.Terrorists being aided by the locals to attack the military that they need for protection as soft targets. When it is said an average headslammer is a supporter of terrorists/terrorism, they will call us islamophobic people.

It is a regret that this is not the Nigerian army of the 1970-90s that did exploits in internal and external security ops though it is understandable that terrorism have taken a more sophisticated dimension

Worst time to be a Soldier.


Joining Nigeria Army should make top 3 spot of 10 ways to die young.

This is a time when their senior Officers embezzle money meant for arms procurement, they are ill equiped and they are fighting groups who get grant from the government.

The Army abandoned Boko Haram and are chasing after groups formed by indigenous Southerners to combat bandits.

It was a shitty sight man. These terrorists have infiltrated the NA so badly that even when they've got infos before an attack, the senior officers would somewhat wave it off because they are gaining from the war. What a waste.
