ABUJA-President Muhammadu Buhari has administered the oath of office on his Economic Adviser, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu. The ceremony took place during the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC on Wednesday at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The president who presided over the meeting also inaugurated othet four special advisers and one permanent secretary. Those inaugurated included the Special Adviser on Social Investment, Mrs. Maryam Uwais; Special Adviser on Political Matter, Senator Babafemi Ojudu; Special Adviser on Planning, Tijani Abdullahi; and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Rafiu Enikanolaye. While Uwais, Ojudu and Dipeolu were deployed to the Office of the Vice President, Abdullahi was deployed in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

Politicians are gonna surround them to get them to do their bidding and selfishly advise the president, and if you don't compromise, rumor will get to the president from these people that you're working against him... You don't want to be seen in that light even if it's untrue, do you? Welcome to Nigeria.

Second question is, will the president implement their advise and suggestions? Many Nigerian bosses just wake up clouded with tons of things to do, so they do the most pressing ones and the rest become opportunity cost. Planning and execution is poor, politics is too complicated due to competing interests though the geographic space is too little etc. welcome to Nigeria again.

Third question, what's the president's plan that he needs help with? A boss who doesn't have a plan will be as confused as aides who do not know what the boss's plan is... While you're cracking your head thinking they're incompetent and not coming up with ideas, they're cracking their heads trying to figure out what direction you want them to take. Again, welcome to Nigeria.

I do not believe it is right for the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to use the Presidency’s letter head to write a congratulatory letter to Oluwaseyi Afolabi Tinubu, son of APC’s National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

That letter head should be used for official purposes and only on behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria. Oluseyi Afolabi Tinubu’s wedding is not an official government business. Therefore I find it inappropriate that the President would use his official letter head to write him a congratulatory letter.

Whoever advised, or rather failed to advise, the President in this regard has done him a great disservice

I think this is a big lesson to all Nigerians (all inclusive), Never again would we support Presidential aspirants who would decline a debate detailing his economic road map, as well as other sector road maps prior to the election. even if you are WARREN BUFFETT or DANGOTE, your personal riches or xtics is your cup of tea.

When many people advised here that Kemi is not yet up to the task of managing a complex economy like Nigeria many people shouted 'tribalism' but it is now obvious that a new economic team is urgently needed and the President is taking the bold steps now.
Bringing in Ben Akabueze (Fasholas engine room as governor of Lagos) as DG budget and Dipeolu is just the starting point of what should have been done months ago.

I dont like Tinubu as I see him as a crook, but there is one thing you cant take away from him which is that 'HE KNOWS HOW TO SPOT TALENTS' if you give him the chance; sidelining him from making real inputs on the economic team was a big mistake by PMB.
