I only saw the second half of the game and these are my thoughts.

The NPFL all stars in my opinion were a true representation of the league. There was no lack of energy, vigour, zeal, hard running etc as you would expect of local lads who are desperate to catch the eye of a foreign scout. They were tireless and worked incredibly hard! However, when in possession of the ball the true story always came to the fore. The distinct lack of quality on the ball shown by almost every NPFL player, especially when compared to the Valencia players was mind boggling!

I know the time spent with the players will be used as a reason why the team severely lacked any sort of composure or cohesion but there was no sign of any tactics being employed by the manager. Perhaps he just said to them lets counter attack, sit back and hit them on the break with speed, because that seemed to be the only thing they attempted all game and executed miserably.

On a positive note, this is excellent exposure for the players involved and those at home watching. Now they have a better idea of the standards they need to achieve in order to play for a proper club in a proper league, not Albania, Finland or Slovenia. Credit goes out to the LMA for making this happen. Upwards and onwards though that was a thorough lesson in how the game should be played. The score line was flattering.
