If it's real, then tell her to send you an invitation letter, all other protocols would be easier |

Before asking for what she needs to send have you identified what visa you need to apply for? The work visa options are L1, H1 or E1 visa and you can do some research to see which you qualify for. L1 is the best option of you already work for the company abroad and are transferring to the US office but that depends on what turtle of business she does and what type of work/ contract you have with her. These visas are quite tough to get and require a lot of paperwork hence companies tend to use lawyers to get everything ready. Also US work visas are applied for by the company for the person migrating to work it's not really a case of she just sends you documents and you show up at embassy. http://faq.visapro.com/e1-visa-faq5.asp http://faq.visapro.com/h1b-visa-faq.asp http://faq.visapro.com/l1-visa-faq.asp mrlycan: 1 Like |

That would only apply for a B1 visit visa not a work visa as the OP is asking about edbor: |

I am yet to get a concrete answer. I quite understand you. 1. I need to ask her for an invitation letter and an offer of employement to work with her. What next after this. I really appreciate your attention. [Àquote author=ttmacoy post=48490943]Before asking for what she needs to send have you identified what visa you need to apply for? You don't need an invitation letter unless you are going to visit on a B1 visa. For work visas most of the work is done by the employer before you the employee get to the visa stage e.g. for H1 or L1 visa, the employer needs to file lots of documents for the first steps with USCIS after which if approved you can schedule interview at embassy so you are a long way away. And for e.g. the H1 visa, there is a 65k quota annually with over 250k applications received each year from companies all across the worked so its pretty much a lottery even if you qualify. What type of business does she run and what type of job has she offered you? It sounds like a small one man business though I may be wrong, but if it is then your chance of getting a work visa is nil. And even for small one man businesses the cost and effort required to sponsor someone for a work visa is not justified unless there truly isn't anyone in the US who can do what you are being employed to do. mrlycan: |

Good day and Happy New Month I'm currently residing in Nigeria and a Nigerian citizen as well, I'm at the verge of being offered a job at the United States but my potential employer is asking that I get a temporary I-551 stamp on my Nigerian passport or temporary I-551 printed notation on a machine readable immigrant visa. Attached with this mail is the document sent to me by my potential employer with what is required of me encircled. Please can anyone guide me on how to go about this and what are the requirements needed for me to attain this status. Thank you so much as I look forward to prompt and favourable response. |

The first requirement is that the proffered H-1B job must be a job that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge https://dygreencard.com/ |
