For online payment. Since u will be using ur atm card to pay,dey wl charge based on the bank's atm rate. So for stanbic, as at today its 350 to a dollar. That's what I meant. You can do your TB test this period. I don't really know if one can pay cash for visa application
OK
Will look into that...

Good to know that you were able to get it from your uni...funny though that HM refused to give you but directed you where to get it grin

Yes o, at least I was consoled by HM suggestion, even though they refused to give it to me. And their suggestion paid out at the end.

I have a quick question please regarding visa sub-type. I am applying for tier 4 student visa for my PhD, and I am fully sponsored by both my school in the UK and the university where I work here in Nigeria (both pass as official financial sponsors). Which visa sub type is most appropriate? I had thought it should be Tier 4 general sponsored student, but I read somewhere (uni of Manchester visa guide) that I should still select tier 4 general student, the sponsorship not withstanding. This is what is causing the confusion. Any ideas pls?

Pls What's the correct fee for IHS..it's £150 on the site but I heard some people paid $301. Which one is the correct price pls. Thanks

Tier 4 general sponsored student should be the appropriate visa type since you are being sponsored. I just googled and read the uni of Manchester visa guide and it says otherwise explaining each visa type

IHS is £150 for a year but when you are paying online, it comes up in dollars instead of pounds. The $301 must be the equivalent of £150 + £75 (£75 being the additional 4 months added to your visa)

Yea, that's what I saw on their visa Guide. LSE says the same thing - go for tier 4 general even though you have sponsorship. I called someone at UKEAS Abuja, and he said same thing. Have decided to go with the tier 4 general student. Thanks for you time.

Hello house,

Pls I need answers to the following questions

1) I'm planning to board Emirate airline to Newcastle, the flight is going to have a stop over at Dubai, before proceeding to Newcastle, my question is, do I need a Dubai visa to board this flight. (note: I have my UK visa already.)

2) How much money can I travel with.

3) How much luggage is allowed, and is a hand bag also counted as part of your luggage, what is the size of hand bag allowed.

4) Can I go with food stuffs and what food stuffs are allowed.

5) I'm planning to get a new phone, so would it be cheaper buying it here in Nigeria or buying it when I get to the UK.

Thanks you all for your anticipated responce

Hello house,

I'm quite new here.

I need ur suggestion on any other cost effective means of paying my outstanding tuition deposit, I've been trying to pay through form A, for a while now, but to no avail.

I'm getting frustrated because my maintenance fund will mature tomorrow, I've done the TB test and Northumbria University enrollment date is 9th September.

Moreover, the rate for online transfer via Stanbic Ibtc Mastercard, which I was hoping on has jumped to 501.

Ur inputs plzzzz.

Would advice you get in contact with the school rep. in Nigeria, she is Doyin by name, she was really helpful during my Visa application, and I believe she can offer you useful and precise advice.

Best of luck, would so much love to see you in Newcastle.

Hello cuteemperor, From my previous travel experiences to Uk for visit u do not need a transit dubai visa as you wont be headed towards the immigration officers, u would be inside the airport seated till your flight is been announced for boarding to Newcastle. Dont be surprised by the time you land in dubai u wont even have time to waste than to just move straight to ur boarding gate, as their is usually a shuttle kinda bus dt moves passengers to where their next flight is, make sure to get their on time so as not to miss it o. The max u can carry with an economy plus cabin is 30kg. If it exceeds u would pay extra charges. Hand luggage are small bags u have ur vital documents in tht u can conveniently put in the cabin just where you ll be seated in the plane. You can take food stuffs, if u take foods that are grinded like crayfish put them in a transparent packing bag. That immigration officers can easily confirm and not waste your time at the boader control in Uk. If u wish to declare the foodstuffs you can. As for the phone maybe u shud get it here. Well unless u wanna do contract buying or pay as you go kinda buying in the uk and with exchange rate my dear the price fit skyrock. Thats my two cent about this questions.

Cuteemperor u shud be able to tke from £2000 upwards. But dont ever make mistake declaring such money at our naija airport oh those immigration officers are thieves biko. Just keep ur mouth sealed and put the money in your hand luggage or a small bag u guys carry Safely. Trust me u would also enjoy your flight with emirates as their cabin crew are very friendly and nyc. And their planes is superb too.

Elope my two cent means thats my sincere answers and reply to his questions. And as for luggage its 30kg per person. No need calling emirates for anything. He cant also carry as much money as he can. Why wud he go buy rice at tesco again for 1pound and some pence when he can carry some to last for some weeks or a month if he isnt the type that eats much and save those pounds for other tins.

My dear cuteemperor pls u are allowed to carry foodstuffs once again and am saying it for a fact. When ur luggages are been checked in tell them you want your bag with foodstuffs to go along with your other bags except your small hang luggage. So you would just go pick it up straight at Newcastle airport. And you pick your bags and for the food stuffs dt are blended put them in a transparent bag that can be very visible they sell those bags at supermarkets here in naija. Put them inside and hey your good to go. No worries again na to just get checked in at the uk border control and hey welcome to England and wishing u all the very best dear.
