I won't argue with u. But all I see on the article z half the truth which z often a great lie. U can't be protesting peacefully without touching or doing any thing crazy and those clowns called police will be asked to discharge stuff. Nigeria of now z known to be a home of protest. U guys know the attrocity u commited that led to the discharge. Although u may be hiding it from the world. And on the other hand those confused thing called police can't say the whole truth coz it will potray them in negative light. Pls dnt quote me.

Students didn't commit any atrocity as you said, it was after a policeman shot a student that students started committing atrocities.

Well, lemme just tell you this. All we just did was block the road leading into the school and the federal Road linking Abeokuta to Ibadan hoping to gain the attention of probably the CP or DPO and pour out our ordeal to him, hoping to strike a solution. He showed up and discussions were tabled, but an unfortunate incident happened when an indigene was caught stealing a tecno m3 phone. The students, still angry, though didn't perform jungle justice on him, beats him to confess his accomplice before he was taken away by the police. The crowd was dispersed only for gunshots to be heard, by oyo police division. The victim in question, was being prevented from being arrested by the vigilante only to be shot in the head, at close range, by a police officer. Then that was everything escalated..

I'm very sorry to say this, but u're a very stupid human being. People like you end up in The sun newspaper giving news based on what they heard and not even trying to make any investigation.

If only you know about funaab, you won't vomit this trash you just did.

Tell the fool.

It was after the student was shot that warranted destruction of church. ..but i can authoritatively tell you that it was frustrated indigenes that did most of the destruction.. .funaab students are known to be peaceful.. .most of what you read online are not true.. .no church was burnt, no building was burnt... Police shot students then ran away. ...it was the students that took the boy to hospital.. ..police later went to people's room while they were sleeping and they were arrested and hurriedly charged to court... Some students were even coming from church and they were arrested with bibles sef.. .they are now at ibara prison .

Condemn police brutality.. .that boy is presently at Uch after being transferred from Fmc in abeokuta.. .the boy is fighting for his life

Tell the fool.

You have been quoted.

The fact that the police lied about the shooting takes away any credibility from them.

See Nigeria is a failed state
My prayer is that I should be rich enough to make my children have citizenship of another country
I was already on my way to oou ago Iwoye kuto motor Park before I saw the notice here that the funabites arrested yesterday were already in court just like that as a comrade in the spirit of solidarity I just quickly take bike from kuto to isabo on getting to isabo round about before the court entrance
I saw a team of policemen there before I could greet them they've shout stop there who are you?? I just immediately show them my ID card which they snatch from me and give me two heavy slap before I know it they've took my phone
They immediately said am a cultists I will join my mates in the prison that we are the one that destroy public properties yesterday I angrily told them am a comrade and I just came to observe the proceedings of my fellow comrade who are being charged
Heeeeen that's how they said I should sit down there
I saw the name of one of the officers his name is Ahmed oguntade they immediately brought hand cuffs and they are about putting it in my hand before their ranking officer two stars emerge he told them to wait he check my I'd card and ask me some questions like what I came to do in the court which I answered him
He told his colleagues to give me back my ID card that I should run that he didn't want to see me near the court premises again before I could say anything his colleagues start barking like dog I just leave there
Nigerian police are the most inhuman useless psycho the world have ever seen

This is the same way Nigerian police escalated boko haram issue, they killed so many innocent northerners, some had no option than to join and they went all out against police formations...

And some bast*rds were shouting black lives matter, when your own police doesn't even respect your life...

Well students would soon start making bombs, and they would bring down police stations to ground level
Re: FUNAAB Riot: "We Never Shot At Any Student" - NPF, "You Lied" - Eyewitness by Tobiloba15: 8:25am On Aug 21, 2016
I was part of those arrested and detained by the NPF. I would vividly give account of how innocent students were packed and detained with no evidence. On that fateful day i was in in room when i got a call from a departmental colleague on the situation of things in school, and was advised to stay put in school, meanwhile my folks at home had called me to start coming home to avoid any form of trouble. At exactly 2pm when the whole crisis had died down, i and my housemate decided to leave the house and check the situation of things if it was safe to start going home, when we got out we saw a lot of female students packing there load to go home, immediately we got to the junction leading to our house a police vehicle packed beside us and three policemen jumped out and started cocking there weapons threatening to shoot us, meanwhile as innocent students we didnt make an attempt to run for fear of being shot. The police officers then told us to identify ourself, which we did, they immediately dragged us into there van and drove us down to eleweran. Before getting there they told us to bribe them with 5k so that they wont take us to the police station, we told them we didnt have that amount of money on us, this got them mad and they drove us down to the station. When we arrived they treated us like common criminal locking over 50 of us in a cell overnight. The next morning they drove us down to isabo magistrate court where we were slammed with six count charges of Arson, Riot, Destruction of govt property, etc and they told us to pay a bail of 100k for no just cause, Men the NPF and the judicial system is so bleeped up, As i am typing some other students are still in custody. God help us,

This is our noble demand

We are sobber, and it is with great alacrity of sobber mind, funaabites make our earnest demand.

1 that Funaab VC Prof OLUSHOLA OYEWOLE should be forced to resign with immediate effect, for he has failed to be proactive and has lost interest on governing the affairs of the university

2. That the university DSA professor AKEGBEJO SAMSON be forced to resign without consideration of favour into any Nigeria university, for being actively poor to foresee student matter as he has proven himself to be lackadaisical,

3 that the university CSO Mr Peter should lose his work as he own no security experience and that he is mentally dull in security affairs, having claimed that the university security jurisdiction is restricted within campus

4 that the police officer that shot OUR TAIWO be faced with justice which should earn him death by hanging

5 that the Ogun state ppro should be jailed for ordering his escort to shoot at student only for our golden hero TAIWO to receive the bullet on our behalf.

6 that police post should be situated along camp - alabata way with resumption of immediate construction before this year academic session elapse, and having done that, a monthly medical assessment should be done to those that will be policing the demanded police post

7 that a 24hours active work should be done at ensuring the safety of life and properties of funaabites for we are Nigerians

8 that for no reason should the VC Prof olushola oyewole , the DSA Prof akegbejo Samson and the CSO Mr Peter should continue as staff of Funaab management, for oluwole is a criminal and the other 2 have lost sense of professionalism and necessary strength and stamina to continue .

It is of high importance, that our demand should be met, for failure of any of it will never be a palatable one, we are funaabites and this is our demand

We therefore use this medium to encourage EFCC that it should ensure a thorough scrutiny on Prof olushola oyewola, the sooner to be resigned Funaab vice chancellor.
we funaabites can't allow oyewole to communicate to us a sense of misappropriating public funds, we don't want a looter as our VC

Meanwhile, we are still praying for TAIWO

pray for TAIWO
Save TAIWO
Save funaab

A THURSDAY TO REMEMBER.
It was supposed to be a Thursday like any other for the Staff, students and the residents of the Camp to Obantoko areas of Abeokuta. But alas, it didn't turn out that way as aggrieved residents of Adejoke Hostel (which was robbed at around 1am this morning) and FUNAAB students who are all in grief at the high number of incessant robberies in the recent weeks all come out in the early hours of this morning to hold a protest by blocking vehicles of staff and commercial buses conveying students from going into the school premises.

This was going peacefully as initially planned and was gradually dying down until a thief was caught red handed and said to have stolen a phone was beaten by the mob at Isolu. The thief was reported to be an indigene and was also reported to have tried to make away with the phone but was caught by the protesters who were still angry over the Adejoke robbery incident. This made them pour out their anger in him and dealt mercilessly with him.

While all these were going on, a little fracas was started at Camp as reports stated that gunshots were heard as policemen were on ground and were using tear gas and to disperse the crowd. In the midst of the hullaballoo, *a first year student of the department of Forestry and Wildlife Management; Abisoye Taiwo was shot in the left eye and was initially rumoured to be dead* although according to an eye witness report, it was a can of tear gas that was ejected by the policeman who took the shot, but the victim was rendered unconscious due to the force and the range of the shot. The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, Abeokuta where he was reported to be placed under Intensive Care by the NANS President, Comrade Opaleye Dotun p.k.a Zamora and executives of the FUNAAB Students' Union before he was taken to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for further treatment.

Although FUNAABITES clamoured for picture evidence to back up this claim, the NANS President and the excos explained to us that they were denied pictures by the doctors at the hospital. This claim was later confirmed by some students who were also at FMC at the time.

Meanwhile, the protest taking place at camp had escalated as protesters had taken the protest to another level, proceeding to the Kotopo and Eleweeran areas of Abeokuta; burning vehicles and vandalising some properties in the process (including the church of the Vice Chancellor; Divine Heights Bible Church). The policemen tried to disperse the protesters with tear gas and stones and some were also arrested as some of the witnesses reported cases of being chased by the policemen. The entire area was locked down for the time and there was very little movement from vehicles.

A report later came about the Commissioner of Police giving an order for students to be arrested. The order was instantly carried out as policemen began patrolling the all areas in Camp, and even going as far as arresting students in their houses. Although the NANS President, the FUNAAB Chief Security Officer (CSO) and some others are said to be working on their release.

Students staying around the camp and Isolu areas have been told to remain indoors today and tomorrow morning as the raids would still continue.

While all this happened outside the school, the school management declared a *7- day Mid semester break* starting from today. The information was dispersed via SMS and goes thus:
*“The VC on behalf of Senate has declared a 7-day mid semester break from Thur18 Aug 2016. Students should vacate the halls of residence latest 6pm.
Thank u”*
Although the Deputy Vice Chancellor Development (DVC Devp.), Prof. Enikomeyin and the DVC Academics Prof. Eromosele were at the various Halls of Residence to address students and assured the constant supply of water and electricity while imploring students not to leave the hostels until peace is restored.

I am not surprised about these new reports about our unique police officers. The news is a common one in our various institutions.
There is no doubt that in one way or the other the Nigerian Police Force is an accomplish in all the ups and downs in our country.
Imagine our so called police; the major public security firm of the interior complicating issues. If I am right 'make the protest peaceful is the command' but in contrary shooting at the student and arrest the innocent is their style of administering justice. What a nice police force we have in our country! I hope our Government will look into these issues and deliver us from our common oppressors.
