There can be no lasting peace no matter how hard we try if we do not first make peace with the past. It is by this act that we can forgive ourselves and others. This forgiveness brings peace to us and to others. No one can beat his chest claiming to have no skeleton in the closet of his past, skeletons that take the shape of words, actions, assumptions and all. We are all imperfect and our imperfections endear us to ourselves. Let me explain what I just said. When we wrong someone, naturally a chasm is created, a rift birthed by negative energy. When we admit our wrong and apologise, a counter energy is produced also naturally to fill the rift, to erase the chasm. The hurt felt from the wrong reveals to us that we could have lost the relationship, this makes the one more dear to the other. This is why some people will hold on to each other because of nothing but what they've been through together.

Life is not as tough as we make it, our continuous attempts to pick wants over needs have complicated things for us. Remember, when all else fails, love never does, and the best way to feel love is to give it.
