Thisis2raw:Chei!! See wailing abeg ![]() Why do you make it difficult for people to take you serious? I thought we were talking about sports here? Are you just programmed to wail endlessly? OK do you know how many massob members were killed in 2014 under GEJ? |

Maghan37:Not only worst preparation but worst national embarrassment I think with all the controversies he has caused in NFF, Super Eagles, Olympic athletes and Dream team VI, he deserves to be sacked I know he will not resign Shame |

Can we give a standing ovation 2 dia Lord Buhari 4 doing beta than GEJ 4 the very first time in history. I've heard of Nigeria's sports representatives mistreated in the past, but not like I've heard during Rio2016. To think dat this bronze medal in #Rio2016 is a product of government effort and not individuals AKA Mikel, Siasia and others is utter foolishness. |

bejeiodus:You hit the major issue with preparations. The influence of Jonathan on the 2012 olympics was probably minimal so also is the influence of Buhari in this present one. There infleunce can be felt atleast two to four years into their tenure. Few athletes can suddenly become world beaters within a year or two without using drugs. But I feel sorry for the country, I think over the years we have been fed so much junk we actually believe it. If we want world beaters we should start from the primary and junior secondary school system, you can easily detect pure talent when they are young and follow them and teach them proper training and nutrition, even in football players like Messi, ronaldo where detected very young. You can't have a weak competitive and organized athletic sector in the high school and suddently become world beaters thereafter. Because we actually do not know the best talent we have are people with talent and determination to succeed in athletics and may not be our best in pure talent, this kind of things are screened at the high school level and university level. In addition, it takes effort and money into training and nutrition. The last is important because there are few trainers that recommend stocking starch and bread as daily bread. In U.S., you have a feeling Allyson Felix was the best they can offer at 400M in the whole country. In Nigeria, I know many good athletes who do not care about a career in track even when they were very good in primary and secondary school. |

Thanks OP This is exactly what I was telling a wailer the other day. I recall the minister of sport under the clueless one accusing the athletes of not winning even an iron medal. If we don't count 2009, GEJ had 3 years to prepare (2010 - 2012) the athletes for the games. We came back with ZERO medal and wailers didn't blame the president. They blamed the AFN, NFF, NOC et al. But now, AFN, NFF, and co are not to blame, the wailer will rather blame PMB who came to power in just over a year ago. I asked the wailer, if preparations for the olympic can be done in just a year. And he provided the standard boring answer: "stop blaming Jonathan, he is no longer the president" Pathetic. |

AntiIPOOP:I am from the Niger delta and I am telling you to go drain your system off foolishness and hypocrisy.... ![]() Where is that olodo dalung that just quickly blamed the gejs administration for his own incompetence ...Now you want to give buhari credit for winning bronze medal with the same football team that wasnt taken care of...abeg get lost.... |

Qmerit:My guy u are very correct but Bad preparation and lack of proper preparation does not help our chances for more medals in d future. Besides no medal or a mere one bronze are a serious abashment for a country like Nigeria. ![]() |

The government would need to spend more than one hundred million dollars to make reasonable achievement in olympics. |
