We all know that the health insurance in Nigeria is nonfunctional, thereby leaving many poor Nigerians with no option for surgery when they have a life-threatening ailment. We all see how people solicit for funds on Nairaland and other social media platforms when they are sick. This should not be so but that is the condition we find ourselves due to gross ineptitude on the part of the govt.
However, I believe we can give a lot of people hope if we all can come together and donate according to our means. Take for instance, we have about 1.6 million registered members on Nairaland, if about 1 million out of the total members can agree to donate, say #200 (could be more) we will have a minimum of 200 million naira and that would go a long way in bringing smile to the face of those who had hitherto thought they won't make it.
Dear nairalanders, I implore us all to come together and make this plan work. we might be healthy today but who knows what tomorrow holds. if the govt had failed us, let us come together and make the change for posterity sake.
Further contributions as to the workability of the project will be appreciated.
