ValentineMary:But you do realize that there was no universe in the first place right , say 1 trillion years ago ? |

Ranchhoddas:The point is they are willing to take risks knowing full well what their punishments are . |
| Re: The Four Types Of Fear I Faced on my journey To Atheism by Ranchhoddas: 7:13pm On Aug 25, 2016 |
KingEbukasBlog:Nope. There are no punishments if they don't get caught. The only crime here is ''getting caught'' and not necessarily homosexual behaviour. |

KingEbukasBlog:We can't just say that. All we know is our universe has been expanding for almost 14 billion years. Before the big bang our conventional mathematics break down so we can't say because it breaks.down then there was nothing. |

KingEbukasBlog:It might or it might not. Maybe the universe has always been. |

ValentineMary:Lol . Only atheists suggest that the universe has always been . It is impossible for the universe to be eternal . www.hawking.org.uk/the-beginning-of-time.html |

Hppefullandlord there you go again. Now that I have finally resumed going to church after so much persuasion from mum and well wishers.. You wan scatter my brain again. People have already started tagging me a witch and that I have a marine spirit. My mom had to cry and even my reverend had to speak to me In person before I resumed church. Now you've come with these theories. But funny enough, I don't know why it's so easy for me to believe in these theories than in the doctrines. I find peace and fulfilment with these than in all those things being preached and taught in the church but I don't want to disappoint my loved ones. So I guess I will pass. But just know you have kept me in one of those moods I have been avoiding. |

Owliver:a nice summary of your stance on religion. But i would like to know your opinion regarding the aftermath of our actions. Is it punishable by 'God' creator? Do sin exist? Do you believe in afterlife as portrayed by christians and affiliated religions? Do you pray? |

hopefuLandlord:I have read thru ur thread, and I hv few points to contribute. 1. Firstly, making such decision b/c of a few Christians who feel their success comes from Jesus instead of hard work is rather appalling. The bible stated it clearly, there is time for everything, time to sow and time to harvest, time to read and time to pray. The bible also stated that we should study to show ourself approved, it also stated thaat people die cos they lack knowledge. A Christian who pray while others are farming will die of hunger and no help will come. It's a fact everyone knows. 2. Your opinion about God doesn't add anything to his greatness, He is already gre8 and Almighty. His ways are perfect and clear, and u can't comprehend his awesomeness wit ur own understanding, cos He holds and infinite wisdom. U need faith and humility to understand the ways of God. 3. Heaven and helll are real, however when one dies without having a personal relationship with God, and discover these places exist, at that time it would hv been too late to retrace ur steps and he/she condemned to an eternal suffering. 4. There is no other way, to God except thru Jesus. No one comes to the God except thru Jesus. His mission to Earth was clear and he didn't deviate from it, He lived a perfect and sinless life and thought us the way to righteousness. He had no wife, he stayed focus to the mission God gave him, He died for the sin of mankind so as to bring salvation to all men. I emplore u to shun ur own wisdom and understanding as even d wisdom of d wise is folishness b4 God. Humble urself and pray to God thru Jesus. Ask him to reveal himself to u, to direct u on the right way to go. He is a living God who still speaak to those who call on to him. It bothers down to personal encounter with Jesus, u too can experience him, buh u need drop ur ego and seek him in humility and faith. Only a fool will say that there is no God. |

Luckymay:its weird and almost sound impossible here in Nigeria. Almost everything organic foods here is adulterated with animal products so The secret is cooking your own food with time it becomes your regular warm up. I have forgotten my dhl No.Fedex No. is available though. |

Immorttal:I don't believe in after life. but really it won't change the fact if there is after life or not. I pray yes, after doing my best I just pray to God. weather he answers me or not I wouldn't know. sin exists, a society is a bond. religion is a bond too, so if you go against the agreed bond it's a sin yes. but the hell fire thing doesn't make sense. religion defies logic so I won't agree blindly, but you should understand that bonds are laws. so yes if you agree being religious then you are bound by the the laws of the religion. |

Owliver:your response is superficial and concise, yet exhibition of great intelliegence. I had a difficult time classifying your religious belief, Theism - the doctrine or belief in the existence of a God or gods Atheism - Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods. Agnostic - One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God. Deism - A religious belief holding that God created the universe and established rationally comprehensible moral and natural laws but does not intervene in human affairs through miracles or supernatural revelation. Pantheism - A doctrine identifying the Deity with the universe and its phenomena. Monotheism - The doctrine or belief that there is only one God. Polytheism - The worship of or belief in more than one god. Freethinker - One who has rejected authority and dogma, especially in religious thinking, in favor of rational inquiry and speculation. In reference of the above outline,i will place you as a Deist. Owliver:as i have classified you as a Deist(forgive me for that) your statement is apparently a paradox and not a valid deduction from acceptable premises of your belief. Owliver:let me remind you that the notion of sin is a religious inventry. Merging sin, religion and government is never possible. The former imposes it on its proponents and pulls the trigger in a jiffy when transgressed against. while the later apply rational knowledge to arrive to a flexible identifiable position to contain people of diverse ethnicity, backgrounds, cultural ties, beliefs and religion. So the government invented the law and the 'bond'.Following the religious bond exposes you to actions whch might conflict with the societal norm shaped by the government. The instances where religious 'sin' and societal 'laws' have clashed are numerous. Owliver:'religion defies logic' or mental power to reason thats why i don't recommend it to any sane human. You made a good point |

Luckymay:I would advice you keep going to church until you're not dependent on your parents like when you're on your own, being tagged witch and Miami water can lead to seriously bad consequences especially in an ultra religious country like Nigeria because most people start believing you're one Most atheists in Nigeria profess one religion or the other for a reason |
| Re: The Four Types Of Fear I Faced on my journey To Atheism by Luckymay(f): 7:28pm On Aug 26, 2016 |
hopefuLandlord:Being tagged a witch or Miami water is not even my problem. I kinda like it. You know pple would be afraid of me, I enjoy solitude and serenity cos I would be avoided most of the time. I like the feeling. The issue is just my mom. I don't want her feeling bad. So I will continue going to church. And maybe one day I might believe in one of the voodoos of God appearing and confirming his existence to me. Who knows I might become Paul of our time. Thanks though. |

| Re: The Four Types Of Fear I Faced on my journey To Atheism by Luckymay(f): 8:51pm On Aug 27, 2016 |
EyeHateGod:Parental curse Kwa? Because I refuse to go to church? Haha that's a very funny comment coming from you. Curse has no effect. So don't bother cursing people who have wronged you cos you will end up getting hurt while they thrive. |

Owliver:Bro, you re just like me. I advice everyone to be true to their conscience. Its why i m not a full blown atheist and when i came to rationalize everything. I realized there might be something greater that set all these in motion, but that greater being isn't influencing thid life. But some fundamental traits and psychology have been placed in us to force us into thinking for ourselves and controlling the world. . |

Immorttal:I have never really understood the philosophy behind veganism, can you explain further why you forbid eating animals and animal products but gleefully eat plants. So you do not respect plants and propose they should suffer in their very short life? |
| Re: The Four Types Of Fear I Faced on my journey To Atheism by Immorttal: 2:03pm On Aug 28, 2016 |
wirinet:plants are not conscious beigns. Killing and eating animal is canibalism in a broader context. Can you differenciate between an animal butchered parts and human's in a slaughter house?Who told you to eat animal in the first place. Jehovah? I guess. Study reveals over 65 percent of vegans are atheist. |

it is simply the absence of something. It is not a real thing rather a condition of lack of something caused by it's lack of content. So would I call this God
