[quote author=Chrissybaybee post=48904072]Hello house!!! I'm new here but I've been following d thread though. Nice work everyone for reaching out & helping each other in your own little way. To all d gurus @yemdogg, @arcayo, @nonelikeGod, @michV, @lawmerchant....God Bless you all. Please I have a question and will appreciate a response.

Please is it wise/ok to apply for a study permit visa by oct (say 1st/2nd week at most)
against January start date? I would have loved to defer to spring start date to provide me ample time to package the required docs & also give d embassy some time but d course I intend going for isn't running at dat time. It only runs for sept/Jan. My offer isn't out though but I'm told decisions will be made by 2nd week/towards d end of sept & I'm sure ild be admitted by God's Grace. Should I go ahead & apply then considering the time btw oct & Jan? Also I heard there are usually few VO's at dat time cos of d festive

What school pls??

Morning Mr. Justwise! Please help me out with this question. Can I get a permanent stay in Canada if I should through 6 months visiting Visa and get married over there within d 6 months? OR Can I get student visa with Lower credit in HND in engineering course if am to apply for PGD, what grade do they request for d olevel also? Thanks

Get married to who? Your gf over there or a random woman you will meet while visiting Canada?

Regarding the grade question..you need to find that out from the school you are applying for. They will state the course requirements

i was placed on a Ban since last week which i could not partake on the argument of PGD(C).i don't think such argument should be brought to this part 11 anymore and whoever says pgd(c) is not an academic progression,it is a capital LIE.Two of my friends are in canada on a PGC program! PGC study programs are mostly aimed at a targeted work. But the issue i v observed from Nairaland is 69% of pgc(d) applicants are 3rd class degree holders and as i feel,a VO could be afraid of issuing you TRV even if the program relates, cos he doesn't feel your real intention is to study in Canada/you might not cope with the academic challenges and abandon your studies for hustling cool.mind you Canada wants your brain and not only your money. some even choose low programs level below their Bsc and come here and say it's PGC(D)
secondly, some are already masters holder and they apply for pgd(c) and obliviously declaring the masters degree on their applications,so tell me how a VO would be convinced about your purpose of visit?
Thirdly,as i have seen on some people's post, even with the correlation of program, they got refused,i feel also the VO have not convincingly seen why you need a pgc(d) at that particular point in ur career,e.g the prospects of the intended program, will the pgd(c) elevate ur profile from a level 9 staff to manager? will it also increase ur salary from 10k to 90k? e.t.c,these are sentiments to consider. if you have a good paying job and have worked for many years...,masters/phd/mba is the alternative route if your intention is to Study
fourthly, having done your best even at choosing the program that relates and convincing the VO,a VO might still not want to give you the TRV and refuse you on silly excuses.so if you can get a masters admission, the safer..
i disassociate myself from PGC(D) arguments because some i didnt say all applicants here are complex students and they would not reveal the underlying facts of their profiles which could be exclusively behind their refusals which now result to unwarranted arguments occupying spaces/pages here on Nairaland. Till i get my own reply from Accra..i take my self back to a low key mode.

if you applied online, you'll see it on the portal when you logon... also, an email should be sent out( I think). If you applied via paper route on the other hand, you'll have to wait until your docs are returned to you(I think).

....Chin up and reapply. he was only refused not denied! Oluwa will see us through.

CIC will NOT give trv if the passport is not valid for the equivalent study duration

This is not true.

I was issued my trv with less than the equivalent duration of study on my passport.

You can renew and extend in Canada.

Hi everyone, i'm a new person in the house. Heard about the thread from my fiance. Ehmm, please just a quick one. I got a mail for my medicals and considering the short time I have I need to know for those who reside in Lagos where I can get the medicals done and sent to CIC asap. I was told to go do it at IOM Ikeja that they are pretty fast in sending. please how true is this?

Good morning house! Please I need an urgent clarification from you guys.

My brother applied for MSc in Mechanical Engineering in a Canadian University. He contacted a supervisor for his research, the supervisor accepted the request with the condition that my brother will fund his research. He stated clearly in the mail, that he (the supervisor) doesn't have funds for MSc students.

Please can anyone throw more light on this? Is it a good deal? What is the estimate for the research?
