Hello, nice thread. When starting a topic like this you should be specific with the type of affiliate marketing you are talking about.

We have amazon associate: selling products and getting commissions from amazon as their affiliate.

Believe me choosing adsense over affiliate depend on a lot of factors and one of them is your "NICHE"... In terms of transparency we have so many affiliate system that pays far better. Lets talk about JVZOO, as an affiliate you cant compare.

These are just two systems i know people making money from.

I build both affiliate (amazon associate) and adsense sites and let me provide you a my little experience.

In terms of conversion or making more, affiliate marketing kills it. For you to make a lot of money on adsense you need MASSIVE TRAFFIC.

a. I have a new amazon affiliate site, it gets less than 30visits/day and around 900-1000visits/month makes = $150-$200 from amazon

b. Adsense site is of the same with the affiliate site: it gets 600visits/day and around 20k visits/monthly and makes $80-$100 from adsense

Now can you compare the stats? 70% of the visitors on both sites are from USA and other top tier countries.

Here are the reason why you shouldnt even choose adsense above affiliate

CONVERSION: AFFILIATE CONVERTS BETTER
A 30,000 visit a month affiliate site (especially amazon or even JVZOO) can make you $3000-$5000 monthly but a site monetized just with adsense it will take 7x to 10x that amount of traffic from USA to achieve $3k - $5k

NICHE: I explained this already, YOU CANT BUILD A SITE WITHOUT PLANS. You just dont bui,d any site and then wake up one morning to use adsense or affiliate marketing.

Your site needs a structure, why are you building this site? what are the method of monetizing my site? These are factors you need to check before starting a site.

Conversion is all you need to make money, i guess we are all not blogging alone for the fun, but also to make a career out of it. So when comparing adsense and affiliate marketing, you need to be specific about the companies.

My brother you can't make money from a free website. Only looking at your url will keep me away. If you want to get serious as a blogger, you need to pay for a proper website and produce good content.

Totally agree with you. NICHE selection is the most important thing. Am building a website in the health niche, but I niched down a step down. I will monetized using three methods. My own digital products, amazon affiliate and other affiliate programs.

A big advise to any1 looking to start. Go for the EVERGREEN NICHES. the more competition, the more money to make. Produce better content and use more tools. Don't be afraid to spend money. Blogging is a business not a hobby.

I guess you a newbie. Get some proper training so you understand the basics a little. As for my advise, take it seriously. No 1 will take your blog serious, simply because of your URL.
