There is no wisdom in borrowing money you plan to completely spend in your tenure and then expect other people's tenures to pay back for u.

Nigerian leaders should start showing sense.

oduastates:
Nigeria can print naira you cannot print dollars.

All the naira Jonathan printed during for elections are still in circulation.
That is before all the naira printed during the oil boom .
You cannot just dump more naira into an already naira infested economy.
All it will lead to is more inflation.

What Nigerian needs even more than diversification, is a domesticated economy.
An economy in which your

1 Milk comes from a Nigerian diary.
2 your chicken comes from a Nigerian poultry
3 Cement
4 Roofing sheet
5 tomatoes paste
6 petrol etc
Yas long as the producers' priorities are not baking money in Swiss accounts and buying properties in London.
The Nigerian economy has to find her true level first of of all. All those MINT talk na wash.
You cannot expect to be OK if you are depending on the same 2 million barrels( now 1.5 Mil) of crude oil today like you had 30 years ago, even though your population has doubled.
The funny thing is that all this things u mentioned are not too hard to do, but it is the same person in government that wld sabotage all effort just for financial gains. So what do the poor masses do.

and if ineffectual buffoon did not mismanage more 30tr naira within 5yrs, pmb wouldnt have be thinking of borrowing now, or it would have be better if ineffectual buffoon leave the economy the way he met it, there would have be enough foreign reserve for pmb to work with

What of the trillions claimed to be saved from TSA, moreover did my post say GEJ was wise?
What was the essence of voting out GEJ if u are also going to tow his thread? And follow his borrowing footsteps?

Please be wise.

They said if GEJ was there, he will be borrowing to pay.... Now what does dullard and his economic team want to do?

What amaze me is that, this guys just make decisions and Nigerians won't react unlike GEJ era.... APC bought the country already.

What a hopeless government. When they were promising truckloads to get Nigerians on their side and rubbishing the flaws of the previous administration, little was it known by their supporters that they would even become a more horrible monster than that which was axed.

Well, we've heard of incrememnt in funds reserves and procurements of stolen funds running into trillions, but it's obvious that is plain hogwash.

Let them just be Honest enough to publish their debt profile each time they borrow and let it accumulate, same way they shove the 'supposed' earnings into our faces.

I still don't believe some people actually believe the 30 trn mismanagement.... Do you know what 30 trn is? If we are to use Dullard budget for this year which is the highest in this country history, it will be spent for 5 years.... So how is it possible for someone to mismanage 30 trn? this is not 30 thousand OK?

Sometimes, you do not realise the depth of what you say. If Buhari had shown you today' s picture yesterday, would you have voted him in? All these 'ineffectual buffoon' talk is just a weak attempt to divert attention from a sinking ship. The country is receeding drastically under the current administration. That is reality. Be focused on reality, not excuses.

From your comment, it is obvious the government had no plan and still has no plan on how to salvage the economy. PMB definitely wasn't thinking of borrowing when he solicited your votes. Or if he did, can you kindly show where?
Clulessness has assumed its true meaning in this administration.

But we have over $25 billion saved? There is no point saving. Invest that money back into the country and get it back through tax and other returns. What's the point saving the money, then increasing tax everywhere in a country where there is no light, good roads, good health care, water supplied to every house, train services, easy plans to purchase houses and cars? What's the point?

I was shocked when Nigerians started shouting buhari name during the elections . And what pained me most was that those who know him very well and what he can do kept shut and never raised any objections rather they supported him all because they wanted gej and pdp out. By the time the next fuel increase is brought out and implemented many Nigerians will trek to Cameroun for jobs ,just wait and see
I am now speechless...

The loading suffering for the brainwashed elements that voted this CHAIN, is unquantifiable.

How, I wish we can quarantine them to enjoy the suffering alone. angry

Damo,

Why are you bordering yourself explaining the magnitude of 30 Trillion Naira to someone who cannot properly put commas to 50 Billion when asked. Bro, is a waste of efforts. (Dalarpoo budgeted 6 Trillion in 2016 the highest in the history of Nigeria, meaning 30 Trillion would be 5 Years budget) as you rightly argued.

The lost souls cannot be redeemed, so unfortunate.

Borrowing is definitely not the way out...but as we are traped in wat ragna nurks called a vicious cycle of poVerty...if the money borrowed is used for its purpose...and mr buhari does not save the money for his future children...we could achieve sustainable development...all we require now is a big push from out side..yea an influx of capital....I STILL BLIV In buhari....then again if we had not voted buhari in who would we have votedhuhwe all know that all other presidential aspirants are thiefs...

This is same thing I've been wondering my bro. Atiku or Kwankwanso or even the midget El Rufai would have been more preferable to the archaic septuagenerian. He is not in tune with modern day politics or economics and cannot take us to the future we all crave.

Sometimes I wonder if Nigerians were charmed or something but I remember that it was the media that APC employed to spread their campaign of lies and calumny against GEJ.

Worst is many zombies have still refused to be realistic and admit that we can't go anywhere with this current president.

My worst fears isn't even the economic brouhaha but the imminent despotism and the anarchy that it may usher in soon.

God help this entity called Nigeria.
