The Nigerian army has continued to deploy troops and military hardware to the Niger Delta region for the ongoing 'Operation Crocodile Smile' exercise launched to dislodge criminals and groups described as threats to peace and stability in the oil reach zone. Speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Commander, 2nd Brigade of Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Hamisu Hassan, said that the exercise is part of military routine in the fight against pipeline vandalism, cultism, and other criminal acts in the region, insisting that such exercise is been carried out in the North East and North West of the country.
