Where couples are not comfortable with seeking for counselling, they will then involve both families. Whatever becomes the outcome of such deliberations will then be binding on the man and his wife.
Third parties in form of involving neighbours and exchanging words is not healthy for any marriage because your neighbours may use the information against your marriage someday in the future.
