amicable09: Lol ayam not saying guys do not cheat o..... They do and infact they do it with impunity. My point is: saying it is genetic thing or it is "natural" is giving them a very sly excuse.... It's infact an injustice to nature.... A false accusation. Men cheat because they want to. Nature didn't force them to. Men cheat because society has fed their ego with the anthem "men are polygamous in nature" not because Nature did them any dis-service. It is a choice. They choose to. Nature gives them that choice to take a bounce, if they refuse to then the entire blame should be on them and not nature. Society excuses them too much. Accepting it as norm is an injustice to nature. It is a mis-norm (I HONESTLY have no idea if this word even exists  ). Men cheat.... Women cheat..... Each because they choose to. It's a choice, nature is not to blame. We cannot change nature. So it is a contradiction in itself to say in same breathe that "men are polygamous in nature" and yet "one gets a faithful man through help of God". If cheating is already ingrained in the general nature of the male species would God produce a new creation with a faithful nature for those that pray  I don't know if u get my point. The very idea that there can be a 'faithful man' contradicts the theory of "men are polygamous in NATURE" Those men u mentioned in the Bible were polygamous true. But we all remember that when Jesus came to earth he still reteriated the standard as: "One Man One Wife" - THAT is Nature. When a partner makes such choice if you can live with it fine..... If u can't, save everyone the drama of playing the story over and over again in ur head by just taking a walk 1 Like |

Abi the law applies to female alone? .... God even approves divorce on grounds of adultery, this further tells you how much He frowns at it and how MONOGAMOUS he created us!My dear, cheating is solely a choice, not in anyone's gene.. all men don't cheat..my dad never cheated on my my mum so it's not in their nature. .. It's just the level of moral decadence, people sexualize almost everything these days; even an innocent pic could be misinterpreted. .. These days, what people term enjoyment is sex, drinking and other vain things.. no direction, life goals et al. . The media also tend to publicise negativities more hence we keep hearing only sob stories daily. . My dear, please don't settle for less..all men don't cheat....there are still very focused, disciplined and God fearing men out there who don't see disrespecting their wives/kids as enjoyment & who have life goals/ambitions outside sex.. Well, it is your own opinion but show me a cheating guy and I will show you a member of perverse folks. Who is a man? That matured, disciplined, responsible and purpose-driven male being not the f-boys. So check your circle, that "men are polygamous in nature is a perversion. Lol I'm really laughing hard. Forgive me for being away guys, since Sunday it rained all day, there's not been power and I've been offline. Will go offline soon again but let me quickly buttress on my standpoint. I said first that this issue is a controversial one. I know it is. Secondly, I responded to it first not as if we're in church and I have my reason for that. But it's obvious you guys wanted me to sound churchy, I can do that. Before I continue, let me correct that part where I mentioned drunken Noah, I'm sorry I meant Lot. Couldn't edit before my phone went off yesterday. Alright, Men Cheat! Now, I'm not talking about men in church who are new creatures. I'm referring to MEN in their adamic state. They all cheat.  . And denying it doesn't make it untrue. Wishing it away or trying to say some do, some don't, doesn't erase the fact that men cheat. BUT! The man who doesn't, hasn't because of a RESOLVE in his heart not to! Get this point guys. It will save me a million bucks . Any guy who hasn't decided on his own not to cheat on his woman will cheat! It doesn't matter if the woman walks round the house in bikini, he will go out and cheat with a lady wearing a full robe!Which brings me to the point of saying that as a lady, that your man doesn't cheat has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with you! If your man cheats on you, it has nothing, 100% nothing to do with your inability to keep him down with you for seven rounds! Forgerrit! Any man who hasn't come to the point where he purposes in his heart, by himself never to cheat on his partner is not ready to be faithful. Well,have been following you ladies with keen interest on the subject matter. The truth is it will take you a lot of research to make a logical and reasonable decision. First, I disagree with the point " boys cheat,Men dont". What is the definition of a man?. A full grown mature responsible adult who takes decision on his own. On the issue of cheat...Men cheat,base on our psychological set up. Men were created to have flexible and dynamic thinking at making choices. A man has different taste bud which actually controls his emotions. Now,this is a point discipline comes into play. It takes a disciplined man not to be moved by physical attributes which they see on ladies. The saying "Men are moved by what they see is true". I know guys who are so perfect dealing with cheat and the ladies in question would never suspect a thing. Now do we call that maturity "being able to balance the two? . It's an endless discussion and religions are introduced to curb our excesses. Men who are atheist live on the law of nature coupled with societal norms and value..."how will I feel if she actually does same to me" Love is not restricted to religion..people without religion also know how to be disciplined. But I must confess,its not easy as an handsome looking guy with a good job to stick to a partner as ladies are just too many but it's possible3 Likes |

Lolz I must say I'm loving this discussion.... If I could grow up again, I'd like to be an OAP so as to get people talking on controversial issues *forgive me, I've been listening to Tolu, Adenike and Nelly so much lately* Amy I think everyone agrees completely with you on the fact that Men Cheat. That is a basic truth of human existence, we are not trying to deny it on the basis of any form of religion. The main controversy here is your assertion that "Men are NATURALLY polygamous" and "It is in their GENETIC makeup to cheat". SisterGirl I would argue those two points as fallacy back to back anywhere we carry d topic reach! You can't say those two and then still say a "Man needs to make a DECISION not to cheat" No way. If it's in their genes, then it's in their genes, nothing the most spiritual person can do about it - in which case, ALL Men would have stood condemned as irredeemable cheats. If genetics is involved, there is NO DECISION to be made. So the counter argument here is: Men cheat, but thankfully they do so BY CHOICE, hence we still have rays of hope that we can still find a Man who has CHOSEN not to cheat. Okay lemme talk now, on why men/ppl cheat..... I asked a guy the question one day and he answered that the reason is because apples taste different from banana and bananas taste different from watermelon...comparing it to what Jaz said that's it's surprising to find out sometimes dt that the cheatee may not even be in anyway better than the man's madam, but if we look at it from my friend's answer...you may say watermelon isn't sweeter than banana but it's just 'different' from banana nd dts all it takes, I actually kinda reasoned with him dt many times its the quest for variety or just adventure that makes ppl to cheat on their spouses generally Except on some occasions when ppl cheat cos thay have problems in their marriage nd for that period find succor with the cheatee that takes advantage of the problem to gain entrance into the cheaters heart and pants offcos. Jaz, you know why you and I are friends? It's so that we can argue on certain things back to back and still be laughing. For that, I will argue with you on the other side. You know me na . I never say never. But I'm gonna drop one last question before we cross over here. My question is, why preach salvation and repentance message to a 7 year old and quote the scripture, "All have sinned..."? The answer is the reason for my argument. I'll stop here. But there are some things I'll like us to still look at from your post. You went Biblical and I'll love us to go in that vein. I love the bible you know and thank God it's Sunday! The mods can permit us.You mentioned a faithful man. Now in Proverbs 20:6 if I'm not mistaken, the latter part of vs 6 left us with a question and that is '... a faithful man who can find?'. Read vs 7, the answer isn't there! It's like the Proverbs 31 woman, when King Lamuel's mum was advising him on who to marry, notice she didn't say the woman was created from the foundation of the world, that woman -virtuous as she is, has to be made! You talked about adultery. Of course adultery in the old testament wasn't taken lightly because why commit adultery when you can have five wives There was no law that said thou shalt marry one wife in the old testament but thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife! They had discretion to take as wife whoever appealed to them sexually rather than go behind their wives to cheat. Do you get my drift? In the new testament however, this isn't so. Can you see where I'm driving at? If you're open to discussing further on this in the biblical perspective, then I'm in. @ Amicable09 , my dear I wouldn't want to talk much about this cheating stuff.... Yeah, there are cheating husbands & wives.. but there are still faithful spouses.. that's my single message. . Also, my prayer is for all cheating partners(esp people that justify the nonsense by claiming to want varieties, as if noone desires varieties too ) to end up with their type so that they can get a dose of their own medicine. .  ..May God continue to guide us right.. una happy Sunday  |
