I did a job for someone in the US and gave a friend's US account to receive the money with the plan of opening a domiciliary account here and asking him to transfer the money to it. Over time, the money got to some thousands of dollars with him. I eventually opened the account and sent the details to him so he could help me transfer it. He didn't respond and when I called him he didn't answer the call. I called him several times after that, no response. I sent mails to him, no response. I tried to contact him on Facebook and found out he had deactivated his account. It's been like 6 weeks now and the only response to all the messages I sent to him is that even if I report the matter to the police, there is nothing they can do because it is a civil case and he will go ahead to declare bankruptcy and all he owns in the US is a TV which costs about $300.

I have all necessary details about him but I need to know the right way to go about this. I can push it to a level where he will face some charges due to his travel and work history in the US and may even lose so much but that may not eventually bring back my money.

Please, dear people, what do you suggest I do?

3. The proof you gave him the money.

We will try and contact him and hear from him. If he is one of the Nigerians spoiling Nigeria's name here in the US, he will face the music.

I am glad you put up a cartoon of a Nigerian because Trump thinks like one. Unfortunately he is also an American. All the things you detest but live as a Nigerian is what he represents. Sorry i can't. Not until i am sure you acknowledge that your mentality is phucked up and your priorities are misplaced. Think about it. You yourself has confessed that you got likes for a useless suggestion. That in itself is scary as hell. It means that if we extrapolate the numbers, there are tens of millions who think the way you do. That is not good for a country that desperately needs to change. The definition of insanity/stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expect a different result. Nigeria won't change for the better if you all keep thinking the way you have since independence.

Dude don't try it,am a lawyer, you would be the one that would end up in jail or paying for assault and battery. First go make a formal report at the police station (that is if the business you did to get the money is legal)

Lol. You see the guy i am trying to enlighten, Grinch? I completely understand his way of thinking because i use to think like that. You are lucky because your mind is already free from the shackles of Nigeria's mentality. Mine was not easily freed like that. It took the army years to readjust my mentality. You would not believe that most Nigerians who have been living in America for year still have the same Nigerian mentality. Sometimes i look at them and shake my head. All they crave is to amass enough dollars so they can go back home to "oppress". You can imagine what would happen if one of them decides to run for public office. Garbage in, garbage out.

We are good. All is forgotten. But seriously, as a country, we need to come together to start doing things the right way. That is the only way to get out of the rot we are in today. It is not going to be easy but it has to be done. The only other alternative is war. That is never a good option.
