I forgot to include that the job process was ridiculous for that kind of salary.I did written interview of over 10written pages, questions that has to do with the organizational structure.Hmmm.....it was really tough.I passed that stage, next stage was oral interview conducted for three straight days.Everyday one goes to be scrutinized by different persons in the management. At some point after I had finished all the interview and nothing else to ask,the manager stood up and told me I had no future,I should explain and tell them why I think I have a future,I did and I think I answered well.I then received a congratulatory message, only to be informed later about my duties and salary.its well

How can you pay a graduate N25,000 to do a job for 11 hours and six days. That is fifty shades of evil.

Employers are exploiting desperate job seekers and the Labour Congress is not doing anything about it. Every organization must be registered with the NLC and they must confine with well stated labour laws regarding staff welfare. That is the only way I see out of this horrible situation of slave labour.

God help us in this country sad

Must you work in an office? As in must it be white collar job? Why don't you learn a skill and develop it?

Oga Op, God will elevate you to the position of an employer so you will understand how sweet the position is. You are just considering your own salary without looking at the compound picture of how many people to be paid per month, operational cost, maintenance, etc.

I can't count how many times have borrowed to pay salaries and employees would still think you are under paying.

When you have your own business, pay each worker N200,000 per month to justify their work.

No matter what the employee inputs, the employer still inputs more and to make the business a going concern, cost should be well managed!

This your post is radical and contributes nothing to the topic.

The op opened the thread to voice her anger on being offered 25K per month and you're here saying employees get paid the exact value of what they add.

Pls don't tell me you're so delusional to believe "every employee gets paid what value they add".

Like the OP said, please have a conscience.

Hmmmmn my dear friend.... i am a victim of what you just posted.... let me start by listing my qualifications, Bsc, OND, certificate in radio production and storywriting. cipm. certificate in digital marketing....... Thats it for now...
In my bid to getting a job, i got an interview for internship for as a telesales marketer.... on starting the job .... hmmmmn, i was told to be a sales rep. As the job started i ended up doing more than 10 peoples job, and God now blessed me with one useless unilag girl who was the PA to the boss, frustrating my stay at the workplace, all because she wanted the boss to notice her.... that wasnt enough.... i was paid 20k at the end of the month. and all i still as an award is complains and complains.... at a point i had to quit and saved a little to start a business, the business also couldnt survive all because there is no avenue for small scale entreprenuers to survive in this present economy.... Its just so frustrating how the country has become.....

BUT BELIEVE ME, IN GODS TIME, WE SHALL GET BETTER. IM OPTIMISTIC ABOUT IT ALL. YOU AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN BORN IN AMERICA, BUT GOD WANTS US HERE.... NIGERIA SHALL BE GREAT ALL BECAUSE OF US ALL. OUR STORIES SHALL CHANGE.. BY GODS GRACE. AMEN

grin grin grin eventually some get lucky and job changes, I have seen that happen severally. The thing is that someone that lives on 25k monthly will some how learn how to be meticulous with its management. It's still very terrible for a family man though, especially with kids. Sometimes you wake up to unplanned bills due to health brouhaha, it certainly won't be easy for a family man. Not when to obtain just a hospital card costs as much as 10k.

I would strongly advice against any man getting married on 25k - at least not in Lagos. If tomorrow he has issues, I would be reluctant to even help him cos I just feel he is not a serious person. Where even people on 80k are struggling to make ends meet.

I know many people who are married with no kobo salary who have children and are dependent on other relations/friends for survival.

I don't promote it but sadly that's reality.

A small paint bucket of rice is 2k, beans 1200, groundnut oil 450 per bottle, palm oil 400 per bottle . They will need half carton of tin tomatoes for 1350, onions 200 for 8 medium ones . Must they really eat garri? That will keep us struggling to budget soup allocation, it's not easy at all. I think increasing rice to 2 paint bucket will help. Alone, I can successfully manage 25k monthly. With family....hmmmmm, may God rescue everyone in one form of need or the other angry.

o boy! Me make dey collect 80K per month,d money never reach.let alone someone receiving 25K.Naija,which way?

Keep looking eslewhere, keep nuturing you ideas, have the entrepreneurship mindset regardless the pay. Employers don't give a jerk about their workers. The shareholder care more about their shares and dividends and most times when it gets bad, some employees are the ones that feel the hit as seen in the oil industry now- laying off as cost cutting measures. Shares and dividends hardly go down in value to keep the company operating. It is obvious that employers don't give a jerk about employees, they are all for their business interest. Don't leave your destiny in the hands of any man.

I have turned down 3 job offers this year alone.

I once exchanged words with another HR Manager of a top oil and gas service firm at an interview. Couldn't believe I passed that particular interview.

Told an HR staff of a finance firm "I would have honored their final interview invitation if I could"
Her boss called me back out of disbelieve. She wanted to confirm I actually said those words. I just laughed.

I dont want a favour from no HR. I just want you to hire me because I deserve the job. No story.

It's disrespectful to take me through 4/5 stages of recruitment and offer me 70K.

Employers need to respect we job seekers, we need to start making them!

A friend attended a job interview and the recruiter asked about pay. My straight out of school friend told him he's okay with 200K. The Recruiter asked if he was willing to negotiate and my friend told him not to call him if the offer is #1,000 less than #200k.

Did my friend get that job? Hell yes he did.

Let's know our worth as job seekers, add value to ourselves to indeed become valuable and let no employer, recruiter or HR disrespect us!
