Goodnews! Bag Of Rice Now Sell For N17,500 In Kano by Nobody: 9:18am On Sep 08, 2016
The prices of food items appear to be crashing down following the arrival of new harvests at Kano markets. As at yesterday, a bag of rice now sells for N17,500 as against previous price of N19,000 and above. Also a bag of maize which sold at N13,000 last month was yesterday sold for N10,000. ‎Most consumers believe that the drop in food prices will continue as the year comes to an end.

Newly harvested rice is bound to be cheaper because the difference will surely show after the cooking hence different quality, marginal change of price

...why rice become national issues in this country? if a bag of rice has the same price as a bag of gold what should worry Nigerian?
Those countries export rice to our country never eat such rice because there is no longer nutrients in it, it's a polished rice, and many producers even sstated it on the bag that it's for "export only" but why such a rice turn gold in Nigeria?
if Nigerian cry of hunger when you ask why they give you price of rice, isn't this stupid?
what happen to our local food stuffs?

There is nothing good in this news. A bag of RICE as at this time of September, 2015 was not up to N10,000.00.
What are you celebrating?

lol.

its the same way that fuel went up to 145 after they made people buy it at 200+ for months & some clowns came out to say its better we buy it at 145 since it will be available.

the clowns have forgotten that close to 2 years ago, you could buy it for 97 without hassle.

they just love justifying the unjustifiable.

You are right bro. When I was in secondary school, I read in Goh Cheng Leong ( a Geography text book) that "a rice meal is a highly defficient food, consumed mostly by poor Asians".
