Hi,
I am sorry if you felt i was taking advantage of you or something, i just felt a thread for freelancers would be a good way to get good feedback since its a similar field and all....

Some simple Maths.

$30 exchange fee by wire transfer, a tiny percentage to your bank, and you exchange at N415.

OR

$2 Upwork fee for Payoneer + $2.50 immediate load fee (which you don't pay if you wait for 2 days for card load) + $3.15 for every N20,000 withdrawal and you exchange the balance at about N305.

OR $2 Upwork fee for Payoneer + $2.50 immediate load fee, and you use one of the GENUINE exchangers here at N340 or so. (RISKY because you do not know who is who in that thread).

There is an elastic limit. At some point, one method gives more money than the other, then it evens out and finally the tide changes.

$220 to $240 is that critical level. Any amount beyond this, and the wire transfer gives you more money. Any amount below $200, and the Payoneer exchanger option pays more (if you can bear the risk). Otherwise, use the Payoneer ATM withdrawal option. This option also carries a risk. If the ATM fails to dispense cash, it can take 90 days to get your money back because the complaint must be filed with Payoneer and not the bank. I have had several experiences with this. One time it took 30 days, most times it took between 2 days and one week, and one very awful time it took 90 days!

Danger lurks everywhere, but fortune favours the brave.
Thanks
it seems it's better to let the funds accumulate till it reaches $500 or more before wire transfer. what banks in Nigeria can one open the dorm account in where you are guaranteed to always withdraw your cash over the counter without stories of sorry we dont have foreign exchange blah blah blah

Bros, we no go cook the food and at the same time put am for your mouth, chew am for you come digest am again on top.

There are 25 banks in Nigeria. Receive the grace to boldly select one, step out of your house and enter there to find out their account opening requirements. Every bank has dollars and pounds. If one branch does not have, move to another branch. Eventually you will know which branch always has.

Ok, If I were to do this, I will charge N5,000 each. But I will only do this if people are ready to pay and won't start shouting that they are being ripped off.

For a person whose phone just got lost due to theft just a few days ago, currently saving so hard to get another [new or fairly used] and is currently typing with a borrowed phone #5000 might seem a little bit high but am ready to sacrifice the money if u are willing to dish out what you ve got for upcoming freelancers like me. Thank you sir.

Well, I will look into this possibility before September runs out.

lol. The dude does not know that whatever he shares can be resold by information marketers. I charged someone $300 for a knowledge sometime ago.

But oga stagger, your parables no b here o. Is it possible to get app development jobs on upwork and outsource it? Build a team, get the job and have your team member do the job while we split the fees? I have been nursing that idea for awhile now.

Imagine some people sending me emails giving me a list of their personal problems and how broke they are, and actually want me to organize the training for free or allow them participate and pay later. Nigerians can be so difficult and annoying. I have upped the fee to N5000 and will only admit a few. The serious ones only.

What you are suggesting is very possible. Currently, I have a team of 7 working with me. The only two things that matter here to make it work is to have a pool of funds you pay them from (so you do not wait for Upwork before paying them). This is to retain them for a long time. Secondly, you should have some knowledge of app development so when you are preparing your proposals, you'll sound professional.

Make sense. I will pay 5,000 for your skype training but that will be end of the month as I am trying to make a home office rennovation for myself and thereafter I shall have time to start serious work on my projects. I pray make dollar don reach N500 before my high $x,Bleep wey i dey expect land lol.

I took the writing test at upwork sometime ago and was rated 3.50. Isn't that poor? As for those telling you about no money, they do not know the value of information yet. Did they tell such stories to the schools they attended or they paid to get educated?

In another arm, I will be paying my close friend 50k to teach me something. I had to do this to get his attention because I know what I hope to gain from him which is worth Millions of naira because he kept telling me to be patient, patient, patient... and the year is almost ending. So I said bro, you are my friend and brother, but let me pay you 50k in return for your time and knowledge. I know it peanut but at least, let me show I value what you want to share with me as well as your time so it does not look like you are doing it for free.

So you see?
