Travelling round the country is not the issue. The issue is how many people read will read what's on the note. Personally, I don't bother reading whatever is written on a Naira note. I'm sure many others do the same. What's the sense in reading it when you can be spending it? undecided Many Nigerians don't have that patience.

Secondly, it's a crime to deface the Naira note. Those doing this should pray that they won't be caught.

Thirdly, it makes no sense to do this. It's foolish and ill-thought. If you guys want to campaign for your own utopia, the Naira note is not the best avenue. It is even antithetical to your cause.
Your first and second points was making sense to me before i read ur third point especially the use of "utopia" in place of Biafra.

According to ur line of thought,Scotland,Catalonia and Quebec can be regarded as an utopia.

So any group of people seeking for self-determination or independent homeland are pursuing an "utopia"?

My usage of that term is strictly with reference to Biafra. Most agitators for Biafra believe that Biafra will be rid of corruption, tribalism, nepotism, poverty, crime, and other indices that plague current Nigeria. I believe that the rulers of the South Eastern states today will eventually be the rulers of Biafra if it ever comes to fruition. What then will change? You think bad leaders change overnight? It is this warped belief that Biafra will be so great, in fact, than Nigeria, that warrants my usage of that term "utopia".

In reality, Biafra will be exactly the same or even worse than Nigeria. Here's a brief peek into what will happen:
1. Igbos will take over the position of Hausa as exploiters, leeches, and power hungry dogs. Other so called tribes and even Igboid minorities will complain and start advocating for their own country. Soon enough, Biafra will divide and a civil war will ensue. Take a cue from South Sudan on this.

2. Corrupt leaders will spring up everywhere. These leaders will have more freedom and reason to loot the new nation dry. These are the same leaders in Nigeria now who can't even construct public toilets without stealing millions.

3. Exports will be virtually null. It is imperative to note that the oil from Delta North, Abia, Imo and even Ikwerreland won't suffice to feed the new nation, build infrastructure and run the government. I'm sure that Delta South & Central, Bayelsa, Edo, a large part of Rivers, and I daresay, Akwa Ibom & parts of Cross Rivers, won't secede with Igbos. Just like Nigeria now, there won't be any alternative to oil that will be commercially viable to run the country. Yes, the country can go on without oil & exports but the hunger in the land will force many to run back to Nigerian cities.

4. All appointments will be hijacked by Igbos, for Igbos. The official language will be Igbo, ignoring other ethnic groups.

5. There will be mistrust, insecurity, violence, etc, arising from ethnic tensions and perceived injustices.

6. Other groups, drawing from Biafra's success, shall also secede and the nation will face imminent collapse.

While I have no beef with the self determination rights of South Easterners, I believe that Biafra should not be seen as a utopia. Things WILL NOT EVEN BE NEAR OKAY. That dream of perfection is only a delusion especially if other tribes are going with Biafra, of which I know my Urhobo won't. The only thing that'll likely change is that Igbos will be in power & even this change will be at the detriment of other ethnic group and thus, a new Nigeria will evolve. If Igbos are patient enough and their leaders become smart and calculative, they can actually win the presidency in Nigeria and become much more relevant like they want.

This is only a figment of your delusional imagination, it's a reflection of your wish which is ok, as long as we understand it as such and not as reality.

1. Biafra will not be structured like Nigeria. It was Will structured in such a way that each province controls her resources and pay tax to the central government.

There is nothing whatsoever in history to suggest that Ndiigbo are not capable of living in harmony with her non Igbo neighbors, our co existence with them both in pre colonial Nigeria and in Eastern region, has been that of harmonious and cordial co existence . The idea of a Biafra dividing into fragments is more or less what is to be expected of Odualand, if we put into consideration their historical antecedents as etched in Operating wetie, and the Kiriji battles. It rather paints a picture of people that were incapable of evolving beyond their primordial instincts of expansionism. This is not something you find in Igbo history.

2.Corrupt leaders are already in everywhere in Nigeria, Biafra can't be any worst than Nigeria, so you have no point here.

3. The natural resources ie Crude oil and natural gas in Abia, Imo, Anambra, Anioma, Oyigbo, Etche and Egbema will provide to Biafra more than she currently receives as monthly allocation from the FG.
The greatest resources of the Igbo is her high quality of human resources, that alone will see us through once good government policies are set in place to harness.

Moreover, Nigeria has access to all the crude oil wealth of all the places you mentioned, including those in Igbo speaking territories, yet she is still a failed state.

I reckon Biafra can't do worst.
Bottom line : Crude oil never guarantee the greatness of any nation. Human resources and the citizens patriotism are what build great nations. You need them both to extract the mineral resources, add value to them, sale and invest the proceeds in uplifting the people out of poverty.

Human resources and Patriotism are two most abundant resources in Biafra.

And by the way, how exactly is it your headache if the Igbo nation succeeds or fails? Nah so you love us reach? As bad as you think South Sudan is, the people would not trade their freedom by rejoining North sudan, freedom is priceless, and has no monetary equivalence.

4. This is another bullcrap. It never happened in the Eastern region, never happened in short-lived Biafra, it simply has no historical antecedent and is in direct head on collision with the Igbo belief in equity and fairness as represented by " Ofor/ Oho na Ogu".
So I will chuck this one off as one of those your wishful hallucinations borne out of hatred and desire to see the Igbo fail rather than spending such energy and time in advancing the growth and development of your own people.

5. Sure there might be such mistrusts, gosh! Even in families, siblings do rival each other, but it's always on low danger scales. It won't lead to killings. It would always be resolved in roundtables and will end up being resolved by peaceful negotiations as enshrined in the Igbo republican and democratic traits infused into our genes by our evolved ancestors.

It won't be like in Nigeria, where it all ends in killings.

Moreover, it's dumb of you bringing up this point, since it's already present in Nigeria in grand scale and can't be worst in Biafra with unified religious and cultural ties.

6. This is exactly what will happen to your Nigeria, you are simply projecting your fears on Biafra. Ndo.

Biafra member states will join the union voluntarily, and since the Union will not be built on parasitism, the states will also reserve the rights to secede once critical criteria are met, as their withdrawal won't affect the remaining states, since the remaining states were not parasites on the seceding one.

No. Ndiigbo don't care about what you think about viability of Biafra, we are doing much better than your group in Nigeria, and would do many times better outside Nigeria.

We would appreciate if you save this your ignorant advice for yourself and your group, as you don't see Ndiigbo dishing out advices to you lots.

Nigerian presidency won't stop the Igbo yearnings for a state of ours, totally and completely free of Yoruba and Northern influence and presence.

Ndiigbo are open to the idea of a success driven state between her and related and neighboring groups in the defunct Eastern region, but she is also determined to go at it alone, if those groups prefer to stay in Nigeria, or fight for their own independent states.

N1000 note u see in Lagos today can be seen in Abuja in 2days time and the same note can travel all the way to a remote village in Sotoko in a week time.
In actual sense,a single N1000 note can possibly travel to more than 20 states within a month.

IF THERE WILL BE A REFERENDUM IS STRICTLY FOR THE PARTICULAR PART CLAMORING FOR FREEDOM NOT D WHOLE NATION. ..BESIDES
talking abt population then biafra should be a continent when u compare with countries like ghana and togo.

ghana has populatuon of just 27,000,000 while togo is not even up to 15,000,000.
not to talk of of small countries like niger republic and mali gabon etc.
and funny enough most of these countries are doing better dan nigeria and dnt beg nigeria for anything.

Biafra isn't about the elimination of corruption, nepotism, porverty etc. Biafra is about freedom and self determination. The elimination of those indices you mentioned will come "after" Biafra reaches fruition. The leaders of the South Eastern States might turn out to be leaders in Biafra but the difference is that it will be a Biafran dispensation, not a Nigerian one. The might get away with blue murder in Nigeria because Nigeria Is a faliure, but they can't in Biafra

In reality, Biafra will be exactly the same or even worse than Nigeria
It is highly presumptuous of you to make a statement like that when Biafra has not been given a chance yet. Just because Nigeria turned out to be a failed state doesn't mean everyone else will go the same way

Unlike Nigeria, Biafra is not a "by force" thing. If any of the minorities feel uncomfortable with Biafra, they can opt out. Even after Biafra is achieved, anyone who wants to go can go. Igbos have no history of fighting to be with people.

Corrupt leaders will spring up everywhere. These leaders will have more freedom and reason to loot the new nation dry. These are the same leaders in Nigeria now who can't even construct public toilets without stealing millions
Corrupt leader might spring up, but it will be a different dispensation. It will be a Biafran Police, Biafran EFCC, Biafran ICPC and Biafran checks and balances and laws.

Exports will be virtually null. It is imperative to note that the oil from Delta North, Abia, Imo and even Ikwerreland won't suffice to feed the new nation, build infrastructure and run the government. Yes, the country can go on without oil & exports but the hunger in the land will force many to run back to Nigerian cities
First of, Edo is not part of Biafra (except for the Igbo speaking Igbanke people). As I have already said, Igbos are not going to fight to drag any ethnic nationality into Biafra the way Lugard dragged us all into Nigeria. It goes againt the self determination principle Biafra is built on. As for this insinuation that Igboland cannot pay for infrastructure and feed its self, that is laughable. If Igbo land could survive in the first Biafran Republic in a war situation, blockaded by land, air and sea, imagine what they can do in peace times. As for the minorities such as Ijaw, Ibibio, Efik etc, why wouldn't they want to go with Igbos? It's not like they are gaining anything out of Nigeria. Some of them are even more tired of 'one Nigeria' than Igbos. I have no doubt in my mind that if most of these minorities had to choose between Nigeria and Biafra/Igbos, they would choose Biafra.

4 All appointments will be hijacked by Igbos, for Igbos. The official language will be Igbo, ignoring other ethnic groups
Not possible because Biafra is going to run as a confederation with the regions having their own laws and premier and controling 100% of their resources. No one can 'hijack' anything in a confederal system of Government.

5. There will be mistrust, insecurity, violence, etc, arising from ethnic tensions and perceived injustices
Already answered above

6. Other groups, drawing from Biafra's success, shall also secede and the nation will face imminent collapse
Igbos are not empire builders and have no history of fighting to control any ethnic group. Anyone who wants to go can go

If Igbos are patient enough and their leaders become smart and calculative, they can actually win the presidency in Nigeria and become much more relevant like they want
When it comes to Delta state, most Igbos are more interested in their kith and kin in Anioma. There isn't an Igbo man alive who is going to fight to drag Urohbo, Itsekiri, Isoko into a political Union they do not want. So you guys are free to remain Nigeria. Biafra is for those who agree to be together, not those who coming to cause unnecessary headache. Nigeria is a failed state, it hasn't worked in 100 years and it won't work in another 100 years. We Igbos will hold on tenaciously to our God given right to self determination

Well, I give to you that your answers are quite smart and plausible. You sound convincing and you are not hostile.

The problem here is that most "Biafrans" do not completely subscribe to all your postulations. I've had field days with others on the minority issue and none answered as clearly as you just did. Most seemed to believe that Biafra can "annex" the smaller tribes whether it's their choice or not. Others are quite hostile when smaller tribes express their non-conformity to Biafran ideals. In the various Biafran maps, non Igbo territories are always annexed especially Urhoboland, itsekiriland, isokoland, among others. While these territories are annexed, they are not included in the Biafran system or agitation. This foregrounds a looming issue should Biafra be achieved.

In any case, I wish Biafrans well. My only grudge with the nation is when it tries to annex other people who may not be interested and projecting the idea of a utopia where things are perfect. We are all tired of the current system in Nigeria but if we join Biafra, it'll be the exact replica of Nigeria on a much smaller scale. The best thing for us is to be completely independent or work out a system in Nigeria that'll favour us. The only thing Biafra will achieve is that IGBOS will be in power and take over Hausas. Whether in a federation or confederation, Igbos will take the center and that is the issue for most smaller tribes. Even Igboid tribes like Ikwerre, Ukwuani, Ika, etc, are afraid of this because sentiments will come in and they may end up being marginalized.

As for the issue of corruption, we all know the average Igbo man loves money.. When there is money flowing, most will be tempted and succumb to base desires.

It is highly presumptuous of you to make a statement like that when Biafra has not been given a chance yet. Just because Nigeria turned out to be a failed state doesn't mean everyone else will go the same way

Unlike Nigeria, Biafra is not a "by force" thing. If any of the minorities feel uncomfortable with Biafra, they can opt out. Even after Biafra is achieved, anyone who wants to go can go. Igbos have no history of fighting to be with people.

Corrupt leader might spring up, but it will be a different dispensation. It will be a Biafran Police, Biafran EFCC, Biafran ICPC and Biafran checks and balances and laws.

Not possible because Biafra is going to run as a confederation with the regions having their own laws and premier and controling 100% of their resources. No one can 'hijack' anything in a confederal system of Government.

Already answered above

Igbos are not empire builders and have no history of fighting to control any ethnic group. Anyone who wants to go can go
