To those that wear contact lens, is it better than eye glass and what is it like having it on your eye?

I started wearing glasses when I was 10 now for the past 20ish years I have been wearing contact lenses. i have tried all the various one that have been on the market but I wear daily disposable ones. These ones come in individual small packaging and I get 90 pairs which should last for approximately 3 month.
It takes a little getting used to ,but after a day or two ,you do not even notice you have them in your eyes as they are comfortable.

The vision with contact lenses is total-a 360 degree vision whereas with glasses one is limited to the boundaries of the frames.
Of course there is a risk of infection but with daily disposables this is minimised.

Also in some cases you can suffer from dry eyes but this can be remedied by blinking more often to keep the eye moist.

Above all I get to wear the latest sunglasses and I can swim comfortably with them on.

Glasses will always be required as a daily backup though as I would not advise you wear the lenses for more than 8 to 10 hours daily and give your eyes a rest once in a while.

after getting use to sticking your hands in your eyes, trust me you'll never want to remove them from your eyes!!

I use the daily ones before and sometimes i use them for a week straight before i change them cos i forget theres something in my eye

now i use the monthly ones they are allow flow of air to the eye so i don't even touch them until i need to change them.
I take my glass in my bag everywhere i got though just in case.
I will go for laser surgery when I finish uni get a good job.

contacts are cool. you dont even remember there's something in your eyes. i have perfect vision. i just wear different colored contacts for shakara.

i've had a very bad experience with contact lenses that almost costed me my eye.
so of u want to wear them at all stick to the dailies.

i give the comfort to contact lenses anytime. they are so cool and pple dont get to know u are half bliind (that's for those of us that wear thick i mean very thick lenses )


be careful with the laser surgery too, i hear it reverses.

neva got used to wearing it as it irritated me so much leaving me with red eye 2-4-7.hard to resort to wearing glasses and am realy fed up.

Thanks to every one that have responded. I have learned a lot about contact lens in this forum more than I have learned in health classes. Nairaland is a learning institution in a way, other than you chose to attend it. You are not being forced or looking for a financial gain.

Based on what I know now. I think its safer to not use one more than 24hrs. The disposables would be much better. I am used to wearing classes, it sucks especially when it rains. Also, its safer to go to the best people that way they know more about new technology and recalls. My second glass, I have never wore it. The place I got it from, its a small business owned by some asian family. One of their patients came in complaining about eye infection. That's when I didn't want to get into contact lens.

I may get one. From the best with the best advance technology. Not from a local business owner. Its always good to go with the best, regardless of price.
