People like Edwin Clark are the major problem in the Niger Delta. They only poke their head out when they know there is money to be shared. They make money out on the instability in the region. For the Niger Delta to move forward, we have to do without these greedy, evil people |

And by the way these ijaw people behave as if they are the Niger Delta, if only they were progressive enough as the other smaller group, the Niger Delta would have been better off |

Edwin Clark is pert and parcel of the problem so he should not be allowed to be part of the negotiating team, because he can't trusted. |

Until a white man will b free to walk from NPA to efurun in warri without fear of being kidnapped, investors will keep running away from d niger delta region Let d bombing and wanton distraction continue till niger delta will have no place to call a home |

Finally, the militants have grown guts to confront their corrupt leaders and spit the truth to their face. This is a beautiful and welcome development, they should form a quorum and nominate reputable leaders of their choice and let the negotiations begin. |

yemaldo:they has something to show because the oil is not been drilled dia....the environments dia are not polluted with oil spillage unlike the ND. am not even in Nigeria and your Abuja or Lagos is like a rural area where am staying and schooling. just that I pity ND because of what oil has caused there environment to look like. |

Emmaoga:Is it only in Nigeria that oil is explored such that we suffer so much pollution? Don't you think the people of the Niger Delta have prevented investment by way of their aggressive /Violent reputation? Since the return of democracy to Nigeria the Niger Delta has been taking a good chunk of the Nation budget which ordinarily should make the place liveable and safe for further investment but till date, the ghettos of Haiti appear better. What you fail to realise is that as long as they continue to applaud violence against peace, some individuals may enjoy wealth (as gangsters and warlords) but the generality would be deprived of an environment of growth. The likes of Tompolo thought it wiser to own warships than to own laboratories, than to provide pipeborne water, than to engage environmental remediation for control of oil spills. Who were they hoping to fight? The issue of always harrasing businesses from small scale to behemoths means there can never be sustained growth. Wise up, the Niger Delta is the Niger Delta's problem. |

Chief Edwin Clark begged NDA to stop bombing, and they agreed as elder stateman from the region. NDA gave the go ahead. Delta forum of Ijaw elders (Izon Okosu - Oku) should leave chief Edwin Clark alone! This is not money making issue, is all about make peace in Niger Delta. They should forget about divide and rule those Persons instilled in them. |

If you people think u can add us to yourself to achieve biafra, then u should all wakeup from dat dream. If d country is divided anytime, we in south-south will have our own country and keep our oil and other mineral deposit to ourself cos u can't reap what you don't sow. You guys should fight biafra by yourself as we are about negiotating with d federal government on how to develop our region. |

Sheggy13:You list the names of tribes such as Urhobo, Itseriki, Ibibio- I'm not sure as to whether Ilaje is the name of a tribe- a part from Anioma. Is Anioma the name of a tribe? |

Ngozi123:My focus is on tribe per say but distinct ethnic groups within the Niger Delta. |
