I USE PREPAID METER UNDER IKEJA DISCOS, AVERAGE AMOUNT SPENT ON BILL MONTHLY IS AROUND N12,000, THOUGH WE USE PUMPING MACHINE, WASHING MACHINE AND SOME FEW POINTS; ENERGY SAVING BULBS. ITS RAINING SEASON, SO NO AC. BUT IN MY HOUSE IN AKOBO IBADAN, ESTIMATED BILL THEY BROUGHT LAST MONTH WAS N21,000. CURRENTLY, I TRIED TO GET PREPAID METER UNDER IBEDC BUT WAS TOLD IS NOT AVAILABLE.

LIGHT IN IKEJA IS AVERAGE OF 16 HOURS AND IBADAN IS 2O HOURS DAILY.

the answer to ur question is simple.
please compare the duration of available supply of last month to the months before. it will definitely be more by 12k/3k. Meaning your area received 4 times more than energy you people use to received. Hence, the reason for the bill. you can verify this from people using Prepaid meter in your area by asking them how much unit/amount spent on energy in this month compare to formal. this is consequence of stable power supply for now... it's costly. Generally, there's increase in generation now, and if any area is still experiencing darkness, it could either be as a result of fault which is not mainly known to customer, your area is known for not paying bills or you snatch NEPA Wife. thanks

You just verified my point. If your transformer didn't blow then you'll have light. Even if na 3hrs. We did the same in my area when our transformer was faulty. So make una quickly contribute money. No nepa or government is coming to help. They'll still charge you installation fee and stuffs like that.

Just hope the electronic prepaid meter gets to your house early enough. Since I've been using the meter, I take responsibility of all electric power usage . Here in mile 2 diobu, we are enjoying very good power supply with Bills lesser than what u mentioned! I mean good power supply, if u notice me am always online even till 4am in the morning, because i have no fear of low battery!

Firstly, they have stopped the monthly charge on PPM. I paid 5k and got 183 worth of unit and it would last me till nov. Light isnt frequent here but aleast i get upto 6hrs daily. PPM for now is the best cos of epileptic supply but if the situation improves, PPM isnt so cheap

I agree. 9 thousand naira last us up to two months plus here. But since since the month of may its another story.i am not advocating for apc or pdp. But we boast more than 20 hrs everyday for the past 4 months. They are yet to take the light since monday as i am talking to you.

It's been 4years now and we don't use Nepa light!

Our bill was 11k monthly, we paid for years and on time. They increased to 13k, we complained n still paid later on they changed to 23k we said hell no! Requested they should come! Stopped paying! After 3 months they came and we showed them one tv in the parlour and 1 deep freezer and a fridge! Major appliances we used then! She said it was because we had 3 phases entering our compound that we should pay! We asked if 3 phases meant we used all the phases at the same time! All this self there has been no time light was consistent. Even was a period we didn't have light for months like 3 yet we paid.

We gave up! After about 6 months they came to cut it off. With bill totalling about 300 and sth thousand! Since then till now!

Sometime this year, a new guy in charge came and said we should bring 100k to clear and start again! My dad said no! We requested for meter since! Even as at those days we had meter but they brought bills without even reading from meter yet we paid! Electricity has to improve!!!! Thank God for solar! Case closed!

I stay in Benin too but guess what I was slammed a bill of #31,000 for just 5 days in August. We had a problem with our transformer for 25 days. So I think aside considering prepaid we need demand value for money from the discos.

Rain is falling steady and and electricity have improved in the past month. Many people here will testify to that. So I don't see why you should be complaining of darkness. Like you don't have light at all. We all know we can't have steady light yet but I know of areas where 18hrs of electricity is sure daily. veekid se I lie?

We have 4 flat in my compound and the highest they've brought since I moved in was 2,800. So we'll share it among the 4 flats. So that's 700 monthly sometimes lesser. And my flat is a 3 bedroom flat with lots of electronics. And our pumping machine is always on.
