I always had water or juice next to me wheneva I was breastfeeding, so we ruled out dehydration cos I was always drinking water too. Wat I suspected was dat I ate less than my body was burning hence the dizzy feeling. Wen I improved on my feeding habit, it stopped. Esp the first 3 months wen u re still trying to get a hang of breastfeeding, latching properly, little or no sleep; you then add diet on top! I hear but not for me grin

True. If you eat far less than you burn, you will definitely faint now cheesy

Remember the diet tips is not solely for the first 3 months. It applies to every mother irrespective of how old their baby is.

But erm, 3months to get the hang of breastfeeding and latching properly? It shouldn't take up to 3weeks max to be a pro in that now. Lol

Goodluck to you my dear. You must be a strong and determined person grin

Hehehehe. I was doing most of these before i became preggo.

To lose weight effectively, you need to know how much calories you take in and how much calories you burn. Then make sure the calories you burn are slightly more than what you take in.

For example, if your breakfast, lunch and dinner plus all the mende mende in between is 3000 calories, make sure you burn above 3000 calories.
If you eat 3000 calories and burn 3000 calories, you will remain where you are. If you eat 3000 and burn just 2500, you will not lose the weight you need.

But always remember mamas that people's body differ o. If dieting is not for you, biko chop your pounded yam and egusi without feeling guilty. If anyone mocks your weight, chop the person join cheesy
Breastfeeding alone helps you burn some calories so you're a bit covered.

After i delivered, my mum and mil said i must drink tea or eat something anytime i breastfeed at night else i'll feel dizzy, especially since i'm on exclusive. I decided to watch and see and i felt fine.

All i take is water at night while breastfeeding, even though my boy wakes up to suck thrice. But some people's system won't let them. That's why it's best to work according to what your system allows.

After 6pm, my largest meal is cucumber and groundut. It fills me well and has very little calories, plus its very delicious and healthy. So it's a win win for me.

PART 3

Tip 6: Vegetables are a lot better than fruits because of lesser sugar content (Yes, the sugar in fruits are simple natural sugar which contains the type of glucose our bodies need). But it’s better to stay closer to vegetables especially carrots, avocado, spring onions, garden eggs and raw tomatoes (ripe tomatoes washed clean), cucumbers, lettuces and other green vegetables.
These are all contained in a typical salad.

Eat them in the mornings about two/three hours before your breakfast. We know ripe tomatoes may taste off, but they are great with tummy and general body fat and if you are breastfeeding, they help too.

So, for example, you have breakfast at 9am, eat a bowl full of these mix vegetables at 7am every day for as long as possible but at least 4-8 weeks for best results.

Tip 7: Cut off Fast-food, Snacks, Suya, Pizza etc. They taste sweet in the mouth but they are not for some people.
For a woman who recently had a baby, replace the pounded yam and cow meat pepper-soup with Irish potatoes and fish pepper soup {stock fish, fresh fish or dry fish, any would do}…you would be glad you did.

You can also make a start on the long, slow process of getting your tummy muscles back in shape by softly pulling them in whenever you get the chance. If you're not sure how, imagine drawing your tummy in towards your spine. Hold for a few seconds, breathing all the while, and then release.

Do this as many times a day as you can fit in. It's also a good idea to hold in your tummy this way when you bend over or lift anything: it will help to support your back and so help to ease or prevent back pain, a common problem after birth.

Last bullet... grin

Don't say 'mitchyy said" o. Be sure your body allows any of these weightloss tips before trying them out, especially for mums who have had a csection. I started using my pp belt at 9weeks because i had not healed properly at the incision area. So know what works best for you and don't just follow what is written above blindly.

Happy sexy weekend to all beautiful mamas

Best pregnancy sex positions

Having a bun in the oven doesn’t mean you and your partner need to put sex on hold for 9 months. In fact, increased blood flow to your pelvic region during pregnancy can make sex even better! Having sex during pregnancy is perfectly safe, but as your belly grows, there are certain positions that are easier on you and your partner. Here are a few positions fit for a mom-to-be:

Spooning on your left side: This position puts almost no pressure on your belly, and lying on your left side reduces weight on your organs from your growing uterus. Your partner can adjust the angle of penetration to make you comfortable.

Woman on top: If you want to minimize additional weight on your belly, being on top lets you control the speed and intensity of movement.

On top of pillows: Talk about comfort! You might already be using pillows for extra body support to sleep, so keep them handy during sex to minimize back pain.

.Reverse cowgirl: In this position, you’re straddling on top facing your partner’s feet. This keeps your belly out of the way and puts you in control!

Leaning against the wall: Stand with your hands or elbows against the wall and let your partner penetrate you from behind--an upright position might reduce some aches and pains of lying on your back.

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO TEAM OCTOBER kiss kiss kiss kiss

How is everyone doing?

Here are some tips to make this third trimester pretty easy for us.

Adapting to Pregnancy: Third Trimester
Although common during pregnancy, some discomforts may seem worse in the final weeks. Simple lifestyle changes can help. Take care of yourself and ask your partner to help out with small tasks.

Limiting leg problems
Ways to combat leg issues:
• Wear support hose all day.
• Avoid snug shoes and clothes that bind, like tight pants and socks with elastic tops.
• Sit with your feet and legs raised often.

Caring for your breasts
Tips to follow include:
• Wash with plain water. Avoid using harsh soaps or rubbing alcohol. They may cause dryness.
• Wear a nursing bra for extra support. It can also hide any leaks from your nipples.

Controlling hemorrhoids
Ways to avoid hemorrhoids include:
• Eat foods that are high in fiber. Also, exercise and drink enough fluids. This will reduce constipation and hemorrhoids.
• Sleep and nap on your side. This limits pressure on the veins of your rectum.
• Try not to stand or sit for long periods.

Controlling back pain
As your body changes during pregnancy, your back must work in new ways. Back pain is due to many causes. Physical changes in your body can strain your back and its supporting muscles. Also, hormones (chemicals that carry messages throughout the body) increase during pregnancy. This can affect how your muscles and joints work together. All of these changes can lead to pain. Pain may be felt in the upper or lower back. Pain is also common in the pelvis. Some pregnant women have sciatica. This is pain caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve running down the back of the leg. Ask your healthcare provider for specific tips and exercises to help control your back pain.

Tips to help you rest
Good rest and sleep will help you feel better. Here are some ideas:
• Ask your partner to massage your shoulders, neck, or back.
• Limit the errands you do each day.
• Lie down in the afternoon or after work for a few minutes.
• Take a warm bath before you go to sleep.
• Drink warm milk or teas without caffeine.
• Avoid coffee, black tea, and cola.

Stopping heartburn
Avoid spicy or acidic foods. Eat small amounts more often. Eat slowly. Wait 2 hours after eating before lying down. Sleep with your upper body raised 6 inches.

Managing mood swings
Ways to manage mood swings include:
• Know that mood changes are normal.
• Exercise often, but get plenty of rest.
• Address any concerns and limit stress. Talking to your partner, other women, or your healthcare provider may help.

Dealing with urinary frequency
Tips to deal with having to urinate often include:
• Drink plenty of water all day. If you drink a lot in the evening, though, you may have to get up more in the night.
• Limit coffee, black tea, and cola.

Happy reading and enjoy your weekend !

BIRTH STORY
Part one
According to first scan at 11weeks EDD was 16th of august , second scan 20th of august and third scan 21th of august, though not sure of LMP.
I was hoping to deliver before my edd, but labour did not come. On the 16th of august which was my edd i was expecting labour but the thing no gree show.
On the 19th was my ANC and it was on Friday, i went to the hospital and my doctor told me that since i have passed my first edd, and my second and third edd are on the 20th and 21st which are Saturday and Sunday i should wait till Monday if no labour i should come for induction on Tuesday.
On Monday i was having contractions but painless and regular but later it became irregular. On Tuesday i started having regular contractions but painless i decided to wait till 12pm to know if the contractions will be painful and to know if it was labour before going for induction, but it was not painful but regular.
I rearranged my bag, boiled water and poured it in my flask. I went to drop my ds at my mums place before going to the hospital.
Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Mumjb(f): 1:06pm On Sep 17, 2016
Part two
When i got to the hospital i was checked at 1pm and i was 4cm dilated, the nurse put an iv line on my hand. in the labour room i met a woman she wanted to try VBAC and the doctor came to check her and she was 4cm dilated also but she was already in serious pain. we were discussing together there if contraction comes she will start shouting and i will b telling her sorry after the contractions we will continue our discussion. but me i was not feeling pain. later the woman asked me shey we are 4cm dilated i told her yes and she said why is it that she is the only one shouting its as if there is notin wrong with me or is it not the same pain we are passing through i told her may be my own will soon increase.
Around 4pm another nurse came in and told me that they are going to insert a tablet into my vjay to fasten labour. and i was like what have u been waiting for since i came..
They inserted the tablet and asked me to go to the main labour room because i will soon deliver so i left the other woman there and went to the labour room. i called my mum to bring food for me and she brought rice for me i was asked to lie on my side i could not eat myself hubby was the one feeding me. the nurse for night duty came to check me and she said i will soon deliver but i was feeling painless contractions.
Around after seven a pregnant lady came to the labour room that she was seen water and the nurse checked her the nurse said that she was in labour and her baby was ready to come outside but her edd is December and she said she was 6 months pregnant and also a student. the nurse asked her to go and bring her hospital bag but she said she has not bought anything, she has not even done any scan and it was even last week she registered for anc. so the nurse asked her to go and call her relatives she went home.
To eight i started feeling little pain and the nurse came to check me and said i was 10cm dilated, she decided to break my water, after breaking the water she checked my babys heartbeat and she shouted. she said she did not hear anything she called my hubby and she checked again so she told my hubby that my baby was already dead that she did not hear the heartbeat. i was already crying and my hubby was asking the nurse the next step and she said we are going to deliver the baby but its going to be hard since the baby is no longer moving. that that is why my labour stopped progressing since that i was supposed to have deliver since.
