Ok. In such case, welcome back would have worked.

You should write to them on Facebook and Twitter.
Ok. But I wonder why they could do this in Nigeria. They dare not try this in South Africa. My dad has complained to their office in Aba. We have sent them email. We have called their customer care number 180 countless number of time and no remedy. Anyway, I 'll try the mediums you suggested.

We have send them a mail yet no response. The mail was sent to customercare@mtnnigeria.net
When sending such mails copy the consumer protection dept of NCC and also the ICPC or EFCC whichever emails you can get.

I bought a new Samsung phone for my Dad. The new phone uses a micro sim as against the big sim which his old phone uses. Because of this, he had to do a sim swap. After doing the sim swap at MTN office in Aba, MTN officials at the center told him the new micro sim cannot be activated until he offset the debt of Sixty-seven thousand naira (N67,000) accruing on that sim!

Up till then, the old sim has always been recharged and even had a credit of Six thousand, one hundred and nine naira (N6109). Never a time was he told that he is owing MTN.

He called MTN customer care number 180 and complained. The customer care officer on 180 told him his "debt" is not sixty-seven thousand naira (N67,000) but just four thousand, four hundred and ten naira,fifty-four kobo (N4410.54). He was told that once he recharges his new sim with that amount, the sim will automatically be opened.

He bought airtime of Four thousand, eight hundred naira instead and loaded inside the sim. Yet till now, the line has not been unblocked. Several calls to 180 has yielded no result as he was told to wait.

He has been waiting for months now.

His number is 07034144914.

Another friend of mine was blocked by MTN and told that he is owing about N100,000. When he complained at MTN business unit, the debt was reduced. Because he needed the sim to be working urgently, he paid the reduced figure and his line was unblocked.

Nigerians should be on alert over this kind of incident.

Help me ask MTN. It's like they are looking for avenue to recoup the One Trillion naira fine Buhari slammed on them.

I know but my dad na correct Igbo guy man. Any attempt to try rubbish with him no go work. Moreover I put the number so that MTN online social media agents can easily track the number and sort the problem out easily.

It's getting crazier by the day. Just this week also, MTN deducted N50 from my phone and told me it was for weekly jokes that I subscribed to. See me, see weekly jokes. I never subscribed to any thing. I guess it's high time we started fighting these ills before they get worse.
