analice107:Ah . . . this is much. ![]() I'm not trying to compete with you. I've said this much before. As an added courtesy, Every reply I make will be as polite as possible. I guess I'm feeling like a good person today. ![]() OK, here's my response, in your reply, you made it clear that the King is God, and the girl is . . . Humans . . .? anyway, now, you said the king wanted a wife who would have these qualities. He didn't want a woman who won't have a choice to refuse his love overtures. Can you honestly say that this is what God wants from human kind? from what I see, what God wants is far different. Let us assume that the King was a more accurate description of the biblical God. Then, the king would more realistically want: A woman who would obey his every command without hesitation.I know the God isn't like the King you described. If he was, The story would go more like this. And as soon as the king noticed the girl and liked her, he immediately went to her father's house, dressed like a servant and told her parents to give their daughter to him with all their hearts or he would have them burnt at the stake. They were furious at his audacity and they cast him out with disgrace. He then promised to return. That if they refused to give him the daughter, they, including the daughter, would perish at the stake. reminding them that the choice . . . in the end, was theirs. He wasn't forcing anyone. All he did was to love their daughter unconditionally and he would do nothing to hurt her . . . as long as his conditions were met. But hey, we both digress. this wasn't about God's intentions. This is about Free will. But I guess we first have to Put this down: Do you agree to the following? 1. If it didn't matter what you did, if . . . whatever you did, had a happy ending, or at least, a reasonable ending, then free will would be a good thing. Because no matter what you did, you had nothing to be afraid of. 2. But if there were some courses of action that you could take that would lead to a very terrible ending, then free will would be a bad Idea. Because you would have to limit its use. Hence, the reward of using it, would be equal to the risk of using it wrongly. 3. Even worse, If there was only ONE course of action that you could take that would lead to a good ending, and everything else was literally Hell, then free will would be a curse. Because just by having free will, you are in danger. The only way to survive is to completely abandon free will and behave like a robot, follow one course of action. So is it then profitable to have free will, when the only way to survive is to NOT use free will? for example, I have a parable of mine. A king once ordered that beautiful castles be built for all the poor inhabitants of his kingdom. After it was built, The king ordered that the inhabitants must use only one room. If they entered or used any other room, They were to immediately go to the nearest knight and apologize. If they were caught in another room besides the room they had to stay in, they would be burnt at the stake. The king was deemed unwise. For what was the point of building an entire castle if only one room was sufficient? Why had he now endangered the lives of his inhabitants by imprisoning them in their castles? He was asked. He refused to answer, his loyal servants were asked, they either refused to answer, or violently attacked. Yet the king insists he is loving and compassionate. He burns several people daily. While walking around his magnificent castle. from room to room. He insists he is fair. Right alongside his advisors. Who do not posses castles, but rather single rooms and are hence in no danger of the fire. "Who can find out how and why the king is loving? is there something else we do not know? Why castles? what is the point?" So have many people demanded. Many, just before being lit on fire in the King's backyard. From this you can see we think differently, I hate parables anyway. I don't know if you understand my own thinking, but I'm asking how my thinking is . . . wrong; how free will . . . coupled with the dangers of it, is a benefit to human kind. |

2 Chronicles 24:19 19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear. Lennycool:That story did not occur in a forthnight, it occured over eons even though it was summarised over one or 2 chapters. The Bible is written end from begining, and Moses was only showing the devolution of Israel (Negroes) what was bound to happen to them if they succumbed to idolatry. God sent many prophets to warn them of their idolatrous ways and the need for them to repent from it, but Israel would not listen until she was cast out of the promised land aka the Garden of Eden which is in the middle east from lebanon to the Euphrates and beyond. |

stokfrick:You obviously do not know the meaning of freewill. Imagine your father says, "you can go to any school you want but it must be in Lagos". Is that free will? Then your father says, "if you choose any school outside Lagos, I will burn and torture for eternity". Is that free will? ![]() |

analice107:I honestly don't understand why I'm being called a scorner right now. You should see my scorning tone. It's way more awesome than this cuddling I'm doing right now. Anyway, Here is the danger of free will. The more you use free will, the higher your chances of ending up in hell. #fact. I'll go even further to assert that there is only one way to make heaven. And that is to do everything Yahweh wants you to do. Exactly like a Robot. And oh, if I wanted to live my life how I wanted, I'd be in prison right now as a nymphomaniac alcoholic. But I'm not. That's because I don't hate responsibilities. I just want you to answer my questions. This has dragged on long enough. |

Scorn mode ON* this post just blew my top off secure:analice107, Does this ring a bell? Can you honestly say that this is what God wants from human kind? from what I see, what God wants is far different. Let us assume that the King was a more accurate description of the biblical God. Then, the king would more realistically want:I understand if you feel like you have to offer yourselves as slaves to an imaginary God for a promise of hope. It might be in the genes. But don't think for a second that others will buy into the same foolishness. This is what you said God wanted; He didn't want a woman who won't have a choice to refuse his love overtures. It turns out to be a blatant, bold faced lie. All the "KING" wants is worldwide slavery. You say he offers us a choice? Well, There are different kind of choices. Some choices can only come from psychopaths. for example, "give me your money or forfeit your life" , "You shall allow me to have sex with you willingly or I will blow your brains out." , "You must do everything I ask you to do, or I will throw you in a fire forever." All similarly impossible choices. Yet some people have been brainwashed to think that one is the fairest choice ever made. Craziness unleashed. Ahh . . . The way you people behave is naturally upsetting and annoying. ![]() |
