How Do You Prove That You Are Married At The Embassy Without Doing Court Wedding by MercyLady3(op): 6:13pm On Sep 26, 2016
How do you prove that you are married at the embassy, without previously doing court wedding ?

Let us assume you did traditional and church wedding alone.

[[[ Can you get documents for doing traditional wedding alone ?? ]]]

If you plan to travel overseas as a couple (You and your spouse), what are the evidences that you are married according to most embassies procedures.

[You know you may need to present documents to show that you are married the same way you would present copies or originals of your BSc. certificate as a proof that you are a graduate]

What documents is enough, you acquired after marriage to follow up procedures you want to pursue in life? [Excluding court marriage]

You can share your experience or knowledge about it.

Thanks.

WRONG

She needs a marriage certificate usually from the Registry. The churches, recognised by LAW to join spouses get it from Registries and issue to couple.

A Marriage Registry is an organ/agency of the local government or government saddled with the responsibility of registering marriages. Just like a birth and death Registry.

There is nothing like Court wedding. It is either you marry in the church, and the Registry gives you their certificate through the church or you apply for it directly and go to the Registry to take your vows and snap pictures.

Marriage under the Act is the same, whether in the church or Registry.

It is our ignorance and love for duplicity that has led people to think 'Court' wedding is different from church and of more and severe binding effect.

Stop confusing the OP. Once she is married in church and has a valid marriaaage certificate from the Registry, there's no need for her to go and do 'Court' wedding like you advised.

You don't need to provide any documents, fill out your applications accordingly and book your appointment as a couple. If necessary pictures taken during traditional wedding are acceptable, traditional wedding is recognized.
