Why are his lawyers not allowing the case to proceed speedily so that he can be set free if he's innocent? They're only compounding his woes of staying in jail for a longer time when the trial has not even started. Do they think even if a South easterner is brought to hear the case he'll simply close his eyes and tell him he's innocent and have him discharged? That won't happen.

I'm not saying he would be convicted by all means, but I don't see him getting free. If Buhari could rebuff all entreaties to intervene in the case of the nation's Number Three citizen, what chance does Kanu stand?

The Judiciary should pass its judgement and allow Kanu to file an appeal or accept judgment. If the Judiciary can't do so within 3 months, then he should be freed. That's how a standard judiciary works.

You should be ashamed of the Judiciary for not being able to pass a judgment for almost a year in order for Kanu to know his fate so that he can appeal or accept.
